Built in 1740 as the home of a wealthy merchant, the Abbey hotel reopened in 1990 after a complete renovation that has seen the front of the hotel regain its original splendour. The 60 rooms have been renovated to give you the feeling of being at home. The hotel is located just behind the Bath Abbey, a few minutes walk from the city centre. The award-winning restaurant, Number One North Parade, offers a varied menu that changes with the seasons. The wines are offered at reasonable prices, and you can enjoy your meal in peace.

Directions

Exit the m4 at junction 18. Follow signs for Bath on the a46 for approximately 8 miles. Bear left at the bottom of the hill for the City Centre (a46). Turn right at the roundabout on the a46 onto the a4. Continue for approximately 2 miles, passing Safeway on your left - keep in the left hand lane once past Safeway. At the tall traffic lights, turn left off the a4 into Bathwick Street (a36) signed for Bristol and Exeter. Cross over the bridge and passed the fire station on your left. At the mini roundabout, turn right into Pulteney Road. Continue straight over the next roundabout. Turn right at the traffic lights, using the filter lane, into North Parade; The Abbey Hotel is at the end of North Parade, opposite the traffic lights.

Bath is approximately 10 miles from the M4. The route indicated avoids the Bus Gates.
