Close by is the Northumberland Heritage coastline, as well as National Trust sites Cragside House and Gardens, and Wallington Hall. There are towns and villages to visit, and Alnwick, Wooler (Gateway to the Cheviots) and Rothbury all have festivals throughout the year. Edinburgh is just over an hour away.

Only mobile phones that are on the Vodafone network will work in the valley. Orange works at the junction of the A697 / Ingram road; O2 works after Powburn, (approximately ¼ mile further on towards Morpeth). Reception going towards Wooler is intermittent.

We can look after medicines/food which we can put into our fridge on request, (not available 24 hours).

Directions

By Car
Northbound
- From the A1, take the Coldstream road /A697 (next exit after Morpeth) and travel through Long Horsley, Long Framlington and Powburn.
- Continue up towards Wooler for approximately one mile, passing a service station and café on your right, and cottages at the top of the hill and the Tynemouth Adventure Scout hut both on your left.
- Take the next left: an unclassified road signposted Brandon, Ingram and Linhope. Continue down into the valley for approximately 2 miles, passing through Brandon.
- Continue till you reach the first grey metal bridge and take a right towards Reaveley.
- Continue up the road for approx ¾ mile. The farmhouse is on your left, just after the pair of cottages on the right.

Southbound:
- From the A1 at Tweedmouth, Berwick upon Tweed, take the Wooler road / B6525 and continue into Wooler.
- At the junction of the A697 and B6525, take a left onto the A697 and continue down the road for approximately 7 miles.
- Look out for Scotts wood yard on your left, and approximately 2 miles ahead is the sign post for Brandon, Ingram and Linhope.
- Turn right and continue down into the valley, passing through Brandon.
- Same directions as above.

If you have a satellite navigation device in your car, please make sure it sends you via Brandon and not through Branton. There is no way across the ford at Branton; both villages are side by side with the River Breamish dividing them.
