Hotel Description

Nestled in the picturesque village of Great Hallingbury, this classic Tudor-style manor house is just a stone's throw from Bishop's Stortford and a convenient 5-minute drive from Stansted Airport.

Despite the prime location, Great Hallingbury Manor manages to avoid the sterility of most airport hotels, surrounding you with lush green countryside, charm and character. The hotel is currently undertaking a one million pound refurbishment, and now offers comfortable accommodation in elegant rooms and great food in Anton's restaurant and Champagne Barn, headed by world-renowned chef Anton Edelmann.

Just moments away from the M11, A10 and Stansted Airport, Great Hallingbury Manor has a superb location for both business and leisure travellers. Just a short car or train journey will bring you to Harlow, Cambridge or central London.

Whether you are looking for an elegant place to celebrate that milestone birthday, a christening or any other special occasion, Great Hallingbury Manor's lake view restaurant is the finest place to party. Executive and world-renowned chef Anton Edelmann has created a variety of unique menus for banquets or buffets. The hotel's resident DJ will create the right atmosphere to suit your celebration and your guests can be sure to have a wonderful time.

Great Hallingbury Manor is also a prime location for business travellers and conference meetings. The Oak Room can hold 40 people (theatre-style) or 25 (board-room style). Very large conference facilities can be arranged, with private transfer if required, just down the road at a special conference centre. 2 private rooms for smaller meetings are also available.

All standard business meeting requirements can be arranged on request.

In this era, caring about our environment is a tremendously important part of life. With that in mind, Great Hallingbury Manor is proud to play its eco-friendly part in every current aspect and future development on the property.

The Manor will be installing air-source heating technology, which harnesses the surrounding air and, using a split system heat pump, converts it to heat. At optimum levels, air-source heating can deliver up to three times more energy than it consumes. Water usage will also be reduced through aqua-recycling. And, of course, environmentally friendly products will be used in rooms, restaurants and kitchens throughout the hotel.
