The smell in the corridors was not very nice, furniture in room was damaged, booked double room but had twin, carpets and mats were well worn throughout the hotel, the bed cover had ink stain

"our stay was short but was dissapointed. " (107175584)

the only good thing is that the bathroom and bedding was clean and staff pleasant and friendly

the balcony was disturbing, no one would want to stand out on it. and when opening the sliding door it came off the hinges.... definately not worth the money we paid

"not great, sorry but would not stay again, just because it was a bargain hotel doesnt justify the the points that I have commented on. The smell was quite bad and lingered on everything that came into contact with the room." (107133487)

lovely staff in restuarant at breakfast

very bad damp smell, made everything of ours smell as well, mould in the bathroom, floor in hallway outside our room very noisy kept us awake when people came along it, stairs to room and restuarant falling apart, outside looks uncared for and unmaintained

"Better than we expected after reading reviews after booking. A budget room at a budget price but it was clean and served our purpose." (107296428)

Room and hotel was better than reviews on your site had led us to believe. Clean toilet/bathroom area, shower pressure lovely, bedding fresh + clean. Lack of kettle in room was quickly put right.

Toilet was lousy!! It took 5 flushes overnight between 12.30 am to 8am to be completely clear!! This was the only thing that really bothered us and it would prevent us using this hotel again.

"This is the worst hotel I have stayed in. We had booked for 3 days but moved after just one night. The receptionist didn't seem surprised we wanted to cancel the second and third nights booking. Probably it is a regular occurance. Do not expect anything at all from staying here other than a dirty, smelly and tiny room. The room didn't only stink of tobacco despite a non smoking room being booked but it also had a strong a suspicious smell of a different type of smoked substance!!" (107127194)

    Nice location

Filthy room, smelly corridors, insects in room, no clean towels. Filthy and insect infested windows that didn't lock.

The check-in receptionis was very rude.

asked for double room ,but had two beds pushed together of uneven height. the room smelt damp. the nets were dirty. there were holes in the blankets. there was no remote for the tv .there were no spoons for tea or coffee making.

Hotel clean and good value for what was charged £65 for bed, dinner and brekfast for 2

Hotel could do with some TLC but was clean and staff friendly and helpfull

I would not have booked the hotel if i had known that it was imposible to get a taxi from Northwich station to the hotel at 10.30pm.We were apparently very lucky to get a taxi in the morning. Also the bar was not very well stocked. the wine was dreadful and although the breakfast was good,it should have been included in the overall price." (97550532)

    it was quiet

The room was very cold with only one blanket and sheet.I didnt know until the next morning that there was a heater i could have turned on.also the shower tray was blocked and i had to get out in a hurry to avoid flooding.finally the bathroom/shower smelt.

"Room 201 smelled of smoke, I had asked for a non smoking room. Carpet had some holes in and looked very unclean. There was a hole in the bathroom door as if someone had kicked it. The shower was a small space. Water was hot though. You could feel the bedsprings when lying on the bed, which made it very uncomfortable. Floorboards on stairs and other places felt like they were broken /springy/could give way." (97369493)

It was easy to book and a convenient location.

    Poor quality of the room.

"Hotel was probably nice once upon a time - desperately needs a refurbishment. torn stained seats - wallpaper and fittings hanging off the wall. patio door would not close properly and was hanging off - poor room lighting - insufficient towels for two people - small crowded bathroom with poor ventilation. A definate sewage type smell downstairs probably due to proximity to the river - can imagine this being VERY bad in heat of summer - Terrible!!!!." (97886114)

proximity to the function i was attending

Booked 4 rooms and specifically asked for double beds in each - three rooms didnt have double beds. hotel was run down and dirty - one bath towel and a bath mat was provided for two people sharing a double room. comunication with receptionist was poor due to insufficient language skills.

The fact it was ON the river. The atmosphere - even though it was earley season and there were few guests. Very pleasant bar area. Efficient use of space in rooms. The View The Location. Good heating in rooms. Smoking rooms. Incredible Prices

Outside needed tidying - but again - Dec 28th , earley season - it looks great in summer. No range of sattellite tv.

    Very novel... floating on river.

Shower was a little small, and poor heat control.

novelty of 'floating', good views from room, adequate size of room for price

decor bland, bedding not warm enough - prefer duvet to blankets.

Good, central location, easy to find.

"The receptionist was more interested in chatting with the chef than helping me to get a taxi. This hotel is in a good location but the fittings in it are worn and dated. I don't know if its because the hotel is on water, but it smells very musty. The signposting was to the Quality Hotel, but I didn't know it was a Quality Hotel I was looking for, I only knew it as the Floatel. It was cheap though - that and it's location are its redeeming features!" (97070511)

The location was convenient. The bed was comfortable.

The hotel smelled musty, the fittings were dated, the shower outlet was blocked.

"The hotel was fine for my purposes; i needed a cheap plce to stay for a weekend and the Floatel certainly provided this. I was not expecting a luxurious stay but i was quite taken aback at the distinct smell that pervaded the corridors and the bathroom in my room. We arrived quite late on the Friday evening and we decided to eat in the restaurant but the welcome was far from warm so we decided to eat across the road in a local restaurant instead. Overall, the room was satisfactory and would recommend it if others were looking for a no frills, budget stay." (99285364)

The hotel was conveniently situated for the event that i was visiting and it was also right in the middle of the town. I was able to secure a good deal for a two night stay so in terms of a budget stay it was very good.

I felt that the staff could have been slightly more welcoming upon arrival and in the restaurant.

    good location,comfortable beds

the patio door would not shut it was very cold in the room also the bathroom smelt awful reported these to reception immedietly on arrival asked to be moved but told there were no more rooms was promised someone would come to sort problems but no one did its a shame cause only for the room it might have been a pleasent stay

Overall good value. The hotel looks a 'bit tired' and needs new carpets etc. but the cleanliness was good. The staff were extremely firendly and professional. The room was good value for money. Although the hotel was quiet the buffet breakfast was still excellent. Well done.

Looks tired. Needs a lick of paint all around and new carpets etc.
