"Overall the hotel was adequate for my needs." (97212707)
Receptionist on arrival was very friendly, and made me feel welcome. Room was clean, tidy.
I arrived quite late having flown in to Belfast International at 9.45pm. After check-in I went to the bar at about 10.30 pm. Had to go outside to another building - lucky it wasn't raining. The younmd man behind the counter was not at all welcoming - I had the impression I was an inconvenience and he just wanted to finish- he didn't make any effort whatsoever and pulled down the shutter at 10.55 pm. The iron in my room didn't get hot at all so couldn't use it to iron out the creases in my clothes. The trouser press was barely fixed to the wall as a screw had worked loose.

"The hotel is okay for an 1-nighter. Being allocated a smoking room despite a strong preference for non-smoking was disappointing" (97696529)
Reasonably priced, sufficient parking, easy access from motorway
Smoking room allocated even though non smoking requested, no soap or shampoo in bedroom, couldn't get wireless internet access working

"Second visit to the Hotel and find it good value for money and would use it again." (107159438)
Value for money, Friendleness of most staff, Breakfast excellent, Restuarant very good, and last but not least the postioning of the Hotel in reference to the rest of Northern Ireland.
Other users of the Hotel and the slamming of the doors by them in late evening and early morning, Foul language by the the Irish residents at Breakfast time, cleaning of the rooms is to early in the mornings not giving the customers a chance of a lie in, noise from the bathroom of the rooms next to each when water is run from either the bath, shower or toilet.

the room is very badly in need of decoration, it really is very drab. The carpet and blanket look older that my 30+ years.

"There were some good points but I wouldn't stay here again or recommend it. " (107117675)
Staff were friendly Breakfast was good value Bathroom clean and shower worked well
Hotel was miles from the centre of Belfast with only taxis to get back after 6pm at £12.00. I would have really liked to have known this before I booked. Hotel decor was generally very shabby

"In the course of a two week touring holiday we obviously stayed at many different hotels. Some were a lot better in some respects but for down to earth comfort and value for money I feel this one ticked more boxes than any other. It didn't outshine any other, just kept a very high standard in all areas" (97707931)
Food was first rate. Room very comfortable. The cost was remarkably low

"Although it was our first time there it will not be our last. The food was delicious, the staff were welcoming and the room felt homely. We had a great stay x" (107209076)
All the staff were very pleasant and also very helpful. From the ladies at the front desks to the cleaning ladies. (And the gentleman!)
There were not many bad points - there was a slight misunderstanding on the website about the reservation, but that was cleared up straight away and the heater in the main room did not work while we were there, fortunately the room eventually became warmer.

"My wife and I live in England but hail from Belfast. We were home for a few days to meet with family and friends. We know the reputation of 'Chimney Corner' from way back and we were pleased to return after many years to find the same Ulster friendliness and helpfulness. The room and rate were just right for our needs, a midweek break, away from it all in the country but near enough to the main motorway into city and beyond. We had an enjoyable stay, thank you 'Chimney Corner'." (97586006)
The friendliness and willingness of the staff - nothing was too much to ask.
The decor, whilst adequate, was a bit dated

"For the price the hotel offered generally a good level of accommodation. Was a bit frustrating that internet access wouldn't work properly. If you need internet check that its working before booking. Restaurant food in the evening was good, but staff could have shown a bit more consideration at breakfast. The hot breakfast arrived before I finished my cereal and fruit so it was sitting there going cold. Make sure you let staff know that you want cereals etc. before the cooked breakfast." (97095786)
Convenient access to motorway and where I needed to be.
Couldn't get wireless internet access to work, just took too long to process the pay as you go account

we missed breakfast on our day off departure as weweere told breakfast was served until 10.30am. this was correct for sat and sun but on monday the retaurant closed at10am, additionally it was served i a different room which we had trouble inding. Other guests showed us where to go as they had suffered the same difficulty. It would of been useful if the restaurant opening times were detailed in the room along with the tarrif.

Staff were friendly and helpful, restaurant and bar a little on the expensive side but overall good.
All 3 rooms that we booked had an most unpleasant smell when we first took occupancy and were clearly in need of airing! Also, no soap in bathrooms. When I asked for the tea things to be replaced I was presented with a brown envelope full of tea bags, sugars etc.!

"Peeling wallpaper, a tiny tv (no teletext), general air of decrepitude. The bar was unpleasantly raucous, not helped by the fact that two noisy children were running loose. Unable to have that simplest of meals - fish and chips - because the chip delivery had not shown up. Is it beyond your capability to get in a car and drive to the nearest supermarket with a freezer? Deeply unimpressive." (97941466)

Suggestions: Grounds could be better tended. Outside signage could be improved to locate the property easier.
