"Overall, we had a good stay but were disappointed that we could not sit in the comfortable bar from 11.30pm for a couple of drinks before going to bed. As regular travellers, we have come to expect this from a good hotel. We hope that when we next visit (as we have stayed at this hotel a few times) this small problem will have been resolved." (97499068)

the hotel reception area has recently been refurbished and is very modern, and it now has seperate bar and restaurant area, which are very good, with good food and service.

As residents of a hotel, we would expect the bar to be open until a reasonabel time. We got back to the hotel at 11.30pm and the bar was closed. Also the main entrance door was closed and we had to knock to get in! We asked about getting some drinks and we were told that the adjoining night club was open, but we would have to go back outside and stand in the queue to get in. As 40+ lady residents, this was not acceptable.

The breakfast was great and the dining room staff were very helpful. 10/10. the location is tip top.

The noise from the road is quite loud during the night. The car park is a bit small, which is a shame as there didn't appear to be much of an alternative.

The hotel itself was clean, with welcoming and friendly staff and all the facilities you could ask for from a hotel of this nature. The fact that the hotel was under some sort of refurbishment. I think that this should of been mentioned when booking as we were bringing clients to the hotel so I was disappointed to see the ongoing works in the hotel something of which I did not know about until walking into reception

Unfortunately matters were made worse by the fact that I was unable to open the windows due to the location of the hotel, e.g the nightclub just yards down the road. If I had known this in advance then I would not have booked the hotel. This was not metioned on the website." (3304863589)

Due to the hotel being near the town, could hear the local chavs screaming their heads off til 4am in the morning. This was not amusing. Paid £80 for this and was not impressed. Suggest the hotel has a complete refurb, sound proofing internal and external before I ever go back again." (3304637513)

The only one small problem was that my colleague and I order dinner which was 1st class but we also ordered a bottle of Barollo which took so long in being obtained from the cellar that I had to leave the table to find out what had happened and this meant not being able to have one of the better wines at the start of the meal. The cause may have been a new waiter (although not his fault) or that this particular wine was seldom ordered although a common vintage." (1961689)
