    Clean, airy and comfortable room..

Sound proofing of windows was not very good, as we where woken early hours due to noise outside partying..

"Very pleasant and relaxing (in spite of my pending exam)." (107222394)

Very kind and professional staff at reception. Clean room. Very quiet room! I could not hear any other guests nor any noise from the street. Very comfortable shower.

Minor "incident": another guest had had an evening meal (about 33 BP) and accidentally written my room-number on the receipt. It was a bit embarrassing to convince the reception on the morning of my departure that it hadn't been me who had taken this meal..(obviously the signature wasn't mine). As I was in a hurry in the morning to leave the hotel (I had to take a national exam,)this was a bit inconvenient. I wonder how a confusion about the payment for a meal could be avoided: maybe by writing down the diner's name in full block letters as well as the roomnumber?

    "Good." (107231463)

Staff were highly attentive. I specifically requested a double room with double bed for single use guaranteed. I was checked into a triple room with 3 single beds. As soon as I drew this to the attention of reception it was rectified and I changed rooms. I accidentally locked myself out of room and the porter arrived immediately with a key. Internet access at £5 for 24 hours is exceptional value by comparison with most hotels.

    Neighbourhood not so great.

"good value, great location near all attractions, plenty of cuury houses!" (107106112)

great location on edge of brick lane, spitalfields etc, pretty central for all aspects of london. rooms very clean, breakfast staff very friendly. good value for london.

could do with refurbishing, club below was more like " The Bill" ie police intervention and very young underage drinking outside, kind of exciting but a bit too close for comfort.

Ideal location on edge of City of London Ideal for Tower Etc. Actually on Brick Lane so some of the most marvelous Indian sub continent restaraunts on doorstep.

Only minor fault that comes to mind is the bed covers marks possibly of rather dubious origin on cover in general no real bad points

"City hotel was one of the few hotels that had a room to accommodate 4 adults. It was also close to the Liverpool station for the Stansted express. Since we found other alternatives to airport transportation than the train (shuttle buses) I recommend others to find a hotel with nicer amenities. The room was 125 pounds a night ($250) and should have been a little nicer or at least not in need of repairs or repainting. " (108090626)

The 4 person room in City Hotel had huge water stains on the ceiling. Upon check-in, we asked for two room key cards and were told that they only issue 1 key card. With 4 adults this was inconvenient. The room TV was a 13" color tv and the tub in the bathroom had a huge crack in it where you could see inside it. The hot water was turned off for 1 day and the room fan was covered in dust like it hadn't been cleaned in years

We upgraded from a 3 person room (a double and a single bed) to a family room (3 beds) a couple of weeks before the stay. However when we got their the price was upgraded but not the room. Staff assured us by the time we got in that night that they would have us in a bigger room. When we arrived at 3:00am the only thing moved to another room (which was infact smaller) was 1 jacket. We then had to negotiate a bigger room at 3:30am after a long night. We finally got into a bigger room but spent the next morning looking for the jacket which was moved to a completely different room.

    Clean and comfortable

Refrigerator in room - no visible plug and not working. Why only one helping of instant coffee? The new fashion for charging extra for breakfast is most unwelcome - no English breakfast, even in London, is worth £7.50, and a Continental breakfast at £6.50 is over priced. I used the cafe up the street for £2.95.

We will use this hotel again, definitely.
