"would have been perfect if we hadn't been unfortunate enough to be placed in the room next to a bunch of teenage boys." (107190294)
staff were very helpful.breakfast was extremely nice with plenty of choice. the location is central and easy access to the town centre.
5am we were woken by the group of boys in the next room. They were very loud and every word they said could be heard by ourselves including the discusiion of sex and drugs which lasted a couple of hours.

We managed to be moved into a non smoking room which obviously they did have even though we were told on arrival non were available.
We requested non smoking room as we had a child, and were put in smoking room and the toilet was blocked.

"Night-receptionist was incredibly helpful and friendly, room was sufficient for our needs (free upgrade was very welcomed), television did not pick up all channels (BBC 1 and ITV were missing), fantastic location." (97827983)
The reception staff were very helpful and gave us their instant attention
We arrived for Breakfast 15 minutes before the allocated time was over, however the staff had already packed everything away and were setting up for lunch/dinner. We had to look around and to try and find unused cutlery, overall it was quite awkward and not the best service.

"Unless i recieve some form of compensation it will decide weather i return ti this hotel again." (108073424)
Breakfast buffet very good, parking also good.
The hotel was to noisy and had a couple argueing overnight. This was going on from 2am to 5.30am and several people complained. I really need to recieve some form of compensation to benifit my stay. Inner room of the hotel very drab and in need of total decoration. 1 Lift out of order for 3 days.

"I was dissapointed to find that I paid £100.00 more than fellow companions - the bathroom tiles left a lot to be desired along with the voile curtains that needed washing and ironing plus a dirty mark on the carpet that needed cleaning wall paper coming off the wall - skirting board behind the door needed cleaning - The position in the town could make this a very desirable place to stay I stayed 15 years ago in this Hotel Very dissappointed with this visit and have been left wishing I had gone else where. " (97199913)
Excellent food and dining room service - charming dining room staff - ideal location in Bournemouth -
Very curt reception staff - cleanliness of bathroom - overpriced in comparison to others staying in the hotelof the same party - very noisey during night -

"Good overall and we'd probably stay again." (97298608)
Very good value for money and great location
The refusal of the staff to accept our cash for payment simply because it was from our bank in Northern Ireland was disappointing. The notes had quite clearly stated on them the word 'sterling' but were still unacceptable. As a result we had to go and find a bank nearby where they exchanged the notes for English 'sterling' notes immediately without problem! Does the Active Hotel Group have a policy of accepting only English notes? If so, then this should be made clear on your website so that visitors from Scotland, N Ireland and the Channel Islands are aware before they arrive. Your staff told us that they were under instruction from Head Office to to accept 'Foreign Notes'- but as I'm sure you know N Ireland is clearly a part of the UK as is Scotland.

Customer service was good. The buffet breakfast was good.
We could hear every word of the conversation held by the people next door and i suspect they heard every detail of our goings on as well. I suspect it was due largely to the door adjoining the two rooms. Ideal maybe for families needing adjacent rooms, but not for us.

Convenient to my family - purpose of the visit! and also free car parking - a bonus in the centre of Bournemouth!
Room very hot, we turned the radiator down and opened a window but the room didn't seem to cool down making it an uncomfortable nights sleep for me. The bathroom floor was also very hot in places, too hot to stand on in bare feet!

The location of the hotel is perfect for access to the town centre and convenient for visiting our family.
The hotel is quite dated and seems to attract a much older clientele. The bed was very lumpy and we left with aching backs!

"Overall good value, but advertised as refurbished, which was not the case in my room. The problems of warmth and noise could be resolved by the installation of double/treble glazing." (97006092)
Easy to find and near to the railway station. Fairly centrally located. Included an excellent breakfast buffet.
Room was cold as the central heating seemed to turn off at night. The hotel is located on a roundabout and even though I was on the 4th floor it was very noisy especially early morning.

"Apart from the staff being very friendly and the hotel being in a great location I just couldn't see how this Hotel is down as 4* when really it is struggling to make 3* in my opinion. Ok the rooms are fairly tidy and the shower actually worked but the hotel is so dated, worn and tired. No double Glazing made the windows rattle in high winds and the breeze coming through was close to unbearable. One of my friends had to swap rooms due to it being full of smoke from the previous occupier maybe put in some smoke alarms? I have not stayed in many hotels but I have stayed in cheaper and far better." (97507845)
I liked the fact the Hotel was walking distance to the town centre and the bar staff were very friendly.
I thought the place was very dated and the rooms without double glazing were noisy and cold especially on the 5th floor where very windy.

"We had a good stay with you. Room comfortable but we do feel that the room looked a little 'tired' and could do with a little attention. The net curtains to the window had quite a few holes in it - this does not give a very good impression. Also when the lifts were out of order I suggested to the reception staff that a notice should be put on the doors as guests were just standing/queing for the lift to appear. Breakfast was excellent just felt the dining room was a little chilly on this October morning!" (97907798)

"Satisfactory for what we needed but would be awful for long stay Obviously convenient location, but not clear how and where to park & what to do next, had to ask all the time and no staff around. We were really in no situation to quibble as not much available for the time we went, however they had lots of rooms available and a cut in price would have made it more acceptable. Very noisy at night other residents banged on our door and others on the corridor." (97555917)

"We were very pleased about all aspects of our stay from the time we entered the Hotel and approached Reception, our request for more pillows from the Housekeeping Staff, efficiency of the Dining Room Staff. We would have liked to know that the Bed was placed against the wall only allowing a one side exit." (99241088)
We were impreesed by the attention given to us by all the Staff at the Hotel, Recption, Housekeeping, Bar and Waiters, which has prompted us to use the hotel more over the coming months.
The Economy Room we had had the bed against the wall and for an elderly couple who use the toilet at night meant disturbing the other occupant in the bed.
