"It was the first time I did this to catch an early morning flight from H'row. I'd do it again and at the same place." (107117483)

Staff were helpful, courteous and friendly. Nice room....comfortable. I could really relax. It was a very pretty B and B overall which I like. Loved the pub across the street. Very convenient to the airport.

The shower and bathroom was the smallest I've ever encountered. Hard to shower without slamming elbows on the faucets.

"Very mixed feelings, but I will give you the benefit of my doubts. I have completed this questionnaire your feedback as in your words it 'helps the hotel to continue to improve their services and helps Active Hotels understand consumer needs' and not for publication. " (97723779)

Convenient to Terminal 5 and 2 pubs nearby serving meals. Good shower. Bathroom clean.

Separate house not mentioned on website so the picture of the hotel was in fact misrepresentation of our accommodation. Poor quality and stained carpet in bedroom. Clean bed linen but I did not dare look at the bed. Broken door handle on bathroom. Front door not very secure.

It was close to the airport and it had a shuttle to the airport. All the staff we came in contact to were very good.

We had to leave our suitcase on the floor & I found it hard bending.

"Worked well. I would stay again if things were fixed." (107202898)

The hotel was convenient for layover without having to stay at big hotel chain. Liked the free shuttle.

Shower in room was missing a door and made it hard not to spray water all over bathroom. Breakfast was good, but should have been included or at least cheaper.

"It wouldn't take a lot to make this place into a much nicer Motel to stay in. Some attention to the small things goes a long way, ie. having things that match - cups, glasses, bed linen. A double room for two adults is only given 1 hand towel and 1 bath towel. " (107290169)

Close to the airport and has a lovely pub around the corner that does fantastic meals.

The first room we were given was disgusting and smelt of mould. We requested a room change. The second room, although it didn't smell, it wasn't much better. It was a run down house that seemed to of been redecorated in a hurry and converted into 5 rooms.

"It was adequate for one night. In future if I need to stay for more than one night, I would probably choose another hotel." (107299280)

Airport pickup and drop. Clean and serene environment.

Not adequate customer care. Verbale instructions on directions not clear.

"I would consider going to another hotel if the rooms are not cleaner next time." (97381363)

Check-in was good. Price was very good.

Slow collection from the airport is a recurring factor with Heathrow Lodge. You are told 20 minutes but this is always wrong - it is invariably double that time at least, irrespective of whenever you call. Directions for collection are not clear at all. The room was not as clean as I expected - almost Third World. Rooms could do with a serious lick of paint. I removed three spiders from the ceiling before settling to sleep. When was the room last cleaned?

    "Good value for money" (108079629)

The receptionist on duty was excellent. As well as dealing with guests checking in she also answered the phone to give directions and deal with other queries.

Aircraft noise was higher than we are used to in that area but after about 11 pm it was otherwise a relatively quiet night.

The 'bathroom' was a tiny plastic cubicle and barely adequate.

"The hotel served the purpose of giving us a convenient place to stay at Heathrow as we traveled from Asia to North America. It would be nice if the hotel's pickup locations at the airport terminals were labeled with the hotel's name. " (108072777)

This hotel satisfied our need for a low cost hotel near Heathrow with a free shuttle service. It was easy to book online. The staff was friendly.

Compared to our stay at a hotel at the Luton airport, this hotel is much older and not nearly as nice. Both hotels charged the same rate but the Heathrow Lodge had no internet service available, little soundproofing in the rooms to suppress the sound of the airport traffic, and overall felt dingy and small with uncomfortable beds.

  • 4/10 Valerie ( Group of adult friends)

from Apple valley , US  on  July 1, 2008

"We spoke with another couple who also stayed there, and they were also very disappointed. I feel that the internet description of the hotel was misleading. Again, if the room had just been clean, particularly the carpet, it would have made all the difference." (97904602)

The only staff we met was the young man at the front desk. He was very kind and helpful.

The room was poorly maintained, carpet extremely dirty. The sink did not have a plug, so there was a loud dripping noise. The shared toilet did not flush and the shower was moldy. The bed had a clean lower sheet but no second sheet and only a light quilt. Not sure if the quilt was clean, so felt uncomfortable pulling it over us. Some simple maintenance, 2 clean sheets and a shampooed carpet would have made the stay much more pleasant. I would not stay there again in this condition, nor recommend it.

"Heathrow Lodge was a fine place to stay, only things that let it down were the cramped shower room / toilet and the lack of soundproofing as aeroplanes go right overhead." (108011325)

Free parking, friendly staff, nice location, free tea and coffee making facilities and TV in room.

Rooms could have more spacious shower facilities and better soundproofing.

wake up call where they came to the room, location, teakettle in room, soap and shampoo in room, tv that worked very well in room. SUPER CHEAP PRICE

No top sheet on bed - only a duvet and one can only suspect that the cover isn't changed with each patron that stays in the room. Very noisy but motels always are.

"I would recommend this motel for a short overnight stay. It was a good value for the price we paid." (97059144)

The motel is close to Heathrow. There are two pubs and a McDonalds down the street. There is a shuttle from the airport to the hotel. Local taxi from airport to motel is 13 pounds. The staff are friendly. Rooms were clean and the beds were all right.

The shuttle only goes at certain times and only once per hour. If you are in a big group, you might have to take two trips, which could take two hours. The rooms can be quite noisy due to the planes taking off until 11:00 at night.

Easy access-room ground floor as we had a lot of luggage-

We did not receive wakeup up call for 6:00am as we had requested. Apparently, our room number was misconstrued, as someone tried to get in (another guest) thinking it was their room. Better trained and focused staff are recommended. Room too small for 2-like a cracker box.

"This was the worst place I have stayed since traveling as a student 30 years ago. I will never stay there again. " (108002715)

    It was inexpensive.

The hotel did not receive my internet booking so I had to call twice to verify that I had a reservation. That I had a reservation number made no difference. The reception area was tiny, very unclean, had a ragged mat in front of the reception desk.Tere were 8 people checking in waiting in line for at least 1 half hour, and the courtesy van took 1 hour to collect me at the airport. The van wait would have been ok if it were communicated that it would take that long. Also I could have chosen take a taxi if I had known so that I could have avoided feeling abandoned for nearly an hour. The light bulb in the reading light beside the bed was burnt out and the sole staff was busy with receiving other guests so I could not get a new one.
