Good location, excellent check in took no time at all.
Curtains weren't big enough for windows so light came in really early. TV channel broken and no one was fixing it.

"Staff were great, beds were uncomfortable." (99310074)
Staff were excellent and very accommodating in allowing us to stay in the hotel passed the check out time as we need to return to take a quick shower following a local race (Mens Health for Scotland 10 Kms).
The mattresses were lumpy and the pillows hard. Allowing residents to smoke outside by the main entrance with literally hundreds of dog ends lying about was not good.

Location
Cleanliness/decor of room needs improvement. Bathroom radiator had old urine splashes on it. Sink lacked plug and drain cover. Mould on grout and sealant. Not very a very inviting place to wash.

Free parking available. Friendly staff. 10 min walking distance to subway.
Breakfast only from 7.30 to 9.00 which is very early when you are on holidays and want to sleep a little longer. Rooms noisy and with furniture looking old, rattly and shabby. Bath was not cleaned well, as I found used soap with hairs on it in our shower, which is an absolute no go.

"Generally we had an enjoyable stay but were disappointed by room standard and this would probably stop us using this hotel again." (97744383)
Buffet breakfast presented well with plentiful choice for all tastes, Leisure facilities good. Bar area relaxed & comfortable. Location good.
Disappointed by room standard (Room 247), Decor very worn/scruffy, Radiator literally hanging off wall with very untidy temporary type repair done.Generally looked like room hadn't been decorated or modernised since about 1970 !! Room rate was competitive in price but we have stayed in other similarly-priced rooms in similar standard of hotel & enjoyed much fresher & more comfortable accomodation.

"THIS WAS OUR TENTH VISIT AND THE FIRST DISAPPOINTING ONE. AS ALWAYS, THE ROOM WAS FINE AND THE HOTEL A PLEASANT AND RELAXING PLACE TO STAY. HOWEVER, THE GUINNESS WAS OFF IN THE BAR WITH A POOR SELECTION OF ALTERNATIVES AND WE GOT AN INDIFFERENT SERVICE AT BREAKFAST. YET AGAIN, THERE WAS A PROBLEM IN THE POOL - THE HOT TUB THIS TIME. AT £65 INSTEAD OF THE £55 WE USED TO PAY LAST SEASON IT IS NOT GOOD VALUE FOR MONEY. WE WILL BE BACK, BUT LESS OFTEN AND WITH LOWER EXPECTATIONS." (97181132)

"We unfortunately had a room next to the noisiest lift in Christendom, which was obviously in operation throughout the night. It was also regrettable that the food was so unpalatable and the service so casual, as we would have probably had the evening meal each night." (97681962)
Fitness area, swimming pool and jacuzzi, which was a pleasant addition; however the jacuzzi was broken two of the days! Helpful receptionists and very courteous and friendly too.
Very poor food for dinner; charged for extra portion for which we did not ask and had to wait 10 minutes for glass of wine and then ask twice. Poor service at breakfast: had to ask for toast twice and get our own tea on one of the mornings.

"Breakfast was disappointing as cooked food overdone and delays in getting offered tea and toast meant that food was cold or eaten before it arrived. It would be better if one person looked after certain tables to ensure prompt service. Cooking the breakfast fresh for each table of guests may not be possible, but food should be fresh and frequently topped up. Good access to M8 and M77" (97093704)

"We tried 3 different rooms - all had a heavy cigarette odour - yuk - it clung to your clthes and hair and skin. The bathroom was far too small - my knees were touching the bathroom door. There was a water leak running from one of the taps onto the floor and the carpet in the room - only found this out in the middle of the night. The radiator was very noisy - woke us up." (97733125)
It was claen and tidy
The room smelled of cigartette smoke. There was a water leak in the bathroom - which flowed into the carpet area in the room. The radiator made a loud racket in the middle of the night - this was only remidied by allowing the radiator to be hot - this made the room too hot to sleep in - and when the window was opened the traffic was too loud.

"Easy to find by car with large car park. Comfortable clean warm room, with large separate wardrobe and chest of drawers instead of mass produced open hanging space etc. Very comfortable bed. Staff friendly and helpful. Very good buffet breakfast [even for vegetarian] with very large choice of foods. Excellent free fitness/leisure suite. Location ideal for getting around within Glasgow and the nearby countryside. Underground nearby and bus stops outside. Despite being near motorway I was surprised that the hum of traffic didn't bother us, even with a window open." (97891986)
Comfortable room, friendly staff. Easy to find by car with plenty of parking spaces
I couldn't stay in summer as there was no air conditioning and the windows had restricted opening for safety.

"This is a hotel which we have used in the past and, will use again in future. The hotel is close enough to the city center and all amenities without the problems of city center traffic. It is also easily accessible from the motorway. The hotel staff are pleasant, friendly, and helpful. An ideal hotel for short stays in the Glasgow area." (97737911)
The hotel was close to the amenities/area we were visiting and the rate was very reasonable. There is a good choice of food for breakfast.
The bathroom was in need of some maintenance (broken tiles around mirror with a hole in the wall)and the room was in need of a fresh coat of paint.

"In business we travel a lot and stay in all grades of accommodation. The Swallow was reasonably comfortable for an overnight stay, food and service in restaurant was reasonable, lounge was very comfortable with a nice bar, parking adequate. All staff were very friendly and helpful. Room was weathered, probably needs redecorating and shower upgraded." (99748651)
Staff were friendly and helpful even though they were short-staffed on the night.
Shower amounted to a trickle. Bed creaked badly. TV reception not great. Window with broken latch could not be opened. Room decor poor as wallpaper torn in several places. Restaurant Menu had not been proof read, many typo-errors were displayed ie tick cut chips and sever instead of server to mention but a few. Also colour design on menu obscured parts of text and made it difficult to read, even the waitress had problems reading it!
