The rooms were at the top of two flights of very steep stairs. I can not comment further on the accommodation because on arrival at the hotel I discovered that the two rooms which I had booked were in fact not available.

"Confusion on our arrival - we were asked to pay by cash to qualify for discounted rate, despite having booked on line" (2663290)

OK, though lacking a bedside table

curtains in the bathroom more staff at breakfast - the one member of staff struggled with cooking food, answering the phone and seeing to leaving guests. Wider choice of breakfast food - eg fresh fruit, cooked tomatoes, mushrooms, cereal other than cornflakes

"The internet site on the hotel mentioned payment, being one night's accomodation payment in advance to secure the room. This was fine, no problems. The methods of payment mentioned on the site are the usual recogized credit cards etc. BUT, when I arrived and checked in I was asked to pay in cash. Now this was not a problem just an inconvenience as I then had to make sure I had the required amount. I was staying for eight nights so it did mean a reasonable amount of cash. This was not appreciated." (2099179)

Location - not too far out, not too far in with access to two different tube lines.

Cooling. My room was extremely hot even though it wasn't hot weather.

    "Disapointing, Not what expected" (108079587)

    Manager was very nice

Dirty, small, no elevator, not for a 4 star hotel at all as it supposed to be.

"Good welcome when we arrived. They had plenty of information about things to do. Need to practice cooking breakfasts -tomatoes would have been nice instead of baked beans - but toast was perfect(and plenty of tea and toast offered). Attractive but small breakfast room - not enough space if all guests had come down at the same time! Bar was limited. Considering the cost, it was good-value-for-money. Flat walk to tube, and convenient for Kew and the theatre. Quiet location." (97491235)

    The staff were very friendly.

A bit shabby, and fan in shower room did not work.

    very friendly staff

"The hotel was more a bed & breakfast facility and this was not clearly stated when we booked. There was no concierge and the room and ensuite were a little too small. The hotel seemed larger online and we were a little disappointed when we got there and discovered that it was not a typical 4star hotel. However the hotel was within a short walking distance to very handy busroutes." (99699227)

Although the room was small, it was very cosy. The breafast was quite filling and the staff was friendly.

The linen and blankets were a little worn.

"good location - biggest downside was I stank of fried breakfast as th ekitchen is so close to the dining/breakfast area. overall hotel is ok" (3304011765)
