    good quality room

had booked double room (and received confirmation for that) - hotel had no double rooms available and would not uprade to an executive double free of charge - had to pay £30 more. very expensive bar

"Adequate for my business purposes due to proximity to the office I attend. Wouldn't necessarily recommend." (97978581)

Friendly and helpful staff. Good food.

Decor / carpets clean but seen better days. Plumbing and general bathroom in need of attention.

"I have never stopped at this Ramad but I have stopped in others as well as having occasion to stop at a hotel in Scotland every other week owing to work. In the case of Ramada Livingston I am happy to say that the room was adequate if antiquated. The staff were reasonably efficient albeit the room meal was late with no apology or reason offered. Breakfast was worth attending and I noted staff checking the hotplate regularly my only negative comments are on the overall cleanliness which was adequate to fair." (97102399)

The beds were very comfortable and the staff on reception were friendly and efficient.

The decor was clearly past its best, the bathroom had mould in some parts and was also a very old dark gren (tres 60s). Whilst at breakfast we noted cutlery on the floor, which drew our attention to dirty skirting boards and dusty floorboards, cloths used to wipe tables were left lying on a table by the kitchen and staff who wore a unform which was too small for them.

"The hotel is very well situated away from traffic. Very clean. The staff were very friendly and obliging. We would definitely stay in the hotel again." (99660142)

Rooms quite, black-out curtains excellent. Breakfast was great.

Rooms small, tap in bath not functioning properly. No shower caps

"We arrived at 3pm room not ready We asked for a no smoking room and was told this was why we had to wait. The room we were given was very nice but after a long journey all we wanted was to refresh and rest. We went out as I was getting angry and my husband wanted to defuse the situation. This is the first time we have stayed at a Ramarda Hotel so very dissapointed. the staff not interested in customer relations at all. This upsets me to have to write this as I liked the look of the hotel and the Ramarda Hotels have a good reputation" (99166579)

very clean excellent position felt secure

the room not ready the staff not interested having to leave our luggage in our daughters room due to ours not ready no apology

    THE TOTAL PACKAGE WAS EXCELLENT

"It was ok . I would not recommend at this moment in time." (99552328)

Accomodation was fine ,however the double room was kitted out as if for a single person.i.e.just one of everything barely suitable.

Argueing between staff members during Breakfast was distracting .Quite Loud and unprofessional. It is what we will remember most.Although in general most staff very friendly.

  • 8/10 Anonymous ( Solo business traveller)

"Convenient location. Good parking. Friendly staff. Clean room & linen. Mattress was somewhat 'springy' but comfortable. A squeaky floorboard near the wardrobe/bathroom could not be avoided and was pretty annoying & the room thermostat made an irritating buzzing noise during the night, which I managed to fix by adjusting the setting. However a good breakfast compensated for these relatively minor irritations." (99246465)

    Friendly staff, good breakfast

Noisy floorboard in room! Lack of atmosphere in the open plan restaurant.

  • 8/10 David ( Family with young children)

    from Warrington , United Kingdom;GB  on  January 26, 2007

"I thought the hotel was a bit too claims conscious. Everything seemed to have petty charge to it. It's better to ask for a little bit more money up front and then let your guests enjoy without worrying about the add-on cost." (99642276)

The bed & the tea selection

Room service food was too expensive for the quality

  • 9/10 Anonymous ( Young couple)

"we thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the Ramada, Livingston and would stay there again. The only thing that was a bit of a disappointment was that the restaurant menu was limited at the time we stayed purely becuase of the time of year and the full menu wasn't available however the standard of food and presentation was good." (99906401)

All the staff were very friendly and made us feel at ease. They were all very helpful and chatty and nothing was a problem. the standard of the room was good and the bathroom was very clean and not a sign of mould (which we found pleasantly unusual).

  • 9/10 Esther ( Young couple)

    from Corvallis , United States;US  on  January 4, 2007

The staff went above & beyond with helping us since we weren't from Scotland. They booked a taxi for us and gave us a special rate, and were just incredibly warm.

The only negative was that there wasn't a rubber grip in the bathtub and it was very slick and I almost fell getting in/out.

  • 6/10 Nicholas ( Mature couple)

from Whaley bridge , United Kingdom;GB  on  December 13, 2006

"The hotel is a fairly modern style building with sizeable comfortable rooms. The staff are pleasant and helpful. Breakfast is a cooked buffet style service and is served until quite late at weekends. I didn't think the rooms were serviced as well as they could be. The window frame was unclean on the inside, the tiles round the shower/bath were not cleaned very well and the bathroom supplies had not been replenished. More concerning was that the curtains were closed when we arrived (it was after dark), but I happened to notice that the sliding window had been left open. On a ground floor room this is rather a breach of security. None of this spoilt our stay, it's just not up to the standards we have generally come to expect from hotels in this kind of chain. We were on a short break visiting family, making use of the hotel's weekend offer and the acommodation served its purpose. Had we paid the full tarrif I might have been more inclined to formally complain." (99442275)

Good sized rooms and friendly, pleasant and helpful staff

Room and other areas not cleaned very well.

"Hotel comfortable, if a little worn. A Christmas function was on on the Saturday night of our stay, filling the bar, which also held the overloud disco, and filling the restaurant so that we couldn't eat there. Some advance notice of this might have been useful" (2952388)

    Good value for money,reasonable standard

Staff new, not able to cope quickly with large numbers of people

"We arrived half an hour after we were due to check in and the room was still not ready for us. There was no 'do not disturb' sign in the room and as mentioned the floor and bed were very squeeky!Staff were however very helpfull and friendly.I wouldn't say the hotel was value for money, comparing it to several others recently visited. The room was bland and expensive." (2975452)

    Recreational facilities

Rooms could have been to a far higher standard, squeeky floor drove us mad!!Felt i couldn't move in my own bed as i might have disturbed other guests!

"Generally OK. Meals in restaurant where expensive for what you received." (2921000)

Room adequate however grout around bath let it down. Noise from other guests at 2am was a problem.

Our room could have done with minor redecoration. Eg bath room grout and water mark on ceiling in bed room.

Ramada Livingstone is in an excellent position. Central situation but views from windows are of green grass and shrubbery which bodes for a restful stay!

Maybe a biscuit with your tea/coffee!!!!!!!!!!!!

The gym, the spa, and the beds were nice

Too much cigarette smoke in the entry way

    Relaxed but efficient atmosphere

slightly chaotic breakfast due to large number of tourists breakfasting at once, bus load
