"Last year I had a room in a hotel close to London City airport for £ 60,= more than twice m² and all thinkable comfort. Besides: you are presented as bed and breakfast, which is incorrect: there is no kind of any meal served in Collin house: it is only bed. " (108027796)

The receptionists were very good and helpful. They watched the use of the computer carefully so that oo guest could use it much too long, as some obviously wanted to do.

wash hand basin much too small, very much pipes and tubing of water, not neatly fitted, neither shower nor toilet. In my feeling the price of the room should be maximum £ 40,- and surely not the £ 53,75 that is asked for.

    "abysmal" (108005371)

I only stayed there the one evening

    - The general state of the room and its décor was appalling - There was nail clippings on the floor at the end of the bed - The bedroom window would not close - The general cleanliness of the room was abysmal - The towels provided had certainly seen better days - The carpet was filthy and tacky (you would not wish to walk bear foot) - The beds must be pre-WW1 and have had several regiments sleep on the mattress as a pancake has better support and comfort

"I thought the location was great, central for travelling and for sightseeing.Places to eat and a lovely clean street. I would recommend the area to anyone. The hotel group i would warn people to stay away from.I realise it was really cheap. The fact that the room was small was fine but 10 minutes extra cleaning would have made the difference, bleach and looking for dirt. Also the room needs some repairs and is desperate for somewhere to hang clothes, even a couple of hooks would do!!!!! I have stayed in cheap hotels all over the world and never had a room like this, they were always clean even if basic" (97041013)

    Ex location

Needs a good clean,a bottle of bleach in the toilets.Shower and sink need to be cleaned properly.Around the sink taps were thick with grime.I would not use the shower it was to dirty. Extractor fan in toilet not working. Sash on window broken,so could not open window on what was a very warm day. No remote for the television. Why is there not even some hooks on a wall? At least then you cold hang up some clothes.

"The information on this Collin House in the website is inadequate. It does say that there will not be breakfast available, but it should state that bathrooms (shower) and toilets are shared. The other facilities are minimal. It should also state the peak season and off season price." (97101427)

Easy to locate and close to Victoria Station

The accommodation in the Collin House is of low quality, the rooms are old and facilities are poor. Bathrooms and toilets are shared. There is a lack of hygiene. There is no lift facilities for upper floors. There is not even a chair in the room. The wire for the heating are all causally connected under the bed. The TV is not connected to any aerial, except it s own tiny aerial. The image is poor. Given the price, it is a rip off. I suppose it is the peak season price.

"I read a lot of bad reviews of the hotel but for £50 in central London I think it was excellent. I couldn't stay there any longer than a couple of nights but it was perfect for an overnight stay. Although small, the room was clean and slap bang near Victoria train station meaning the location couldn't be better." (97906953)

The accommodation was very basic but because we had only paid £49 it didn't matter. The room was extremely small but perfect for our one night stay and it was extremely clean. Also it was located within walking distance of Victoria train station.

We booked and paid for an en suite room but the shower and toilet were in the corridor and we heard other people using them.

Charming room, well-kept and the shared bathroom was kept quite clean by the staff. Unlimited wifi internet access was quite reasonable at 7 pounds for 1 week. Hotel manager was very accommodating and friendly.

On Booking in we were upgraded to a studio room in a block a few minutes walk from the actual hotel and closer to Victoria Tube whcih was excellent. Still in a quiet(ish) side street and next to a school which is great unless you are a late sleeper. Room was clean & pleasant and the bed was very comfortable.

No sound on TV which was disapointing. Also, despite having a fridge and microwave there was no Coffee/tea/milk/sugar. Had we known this we would have brought some with us.

Warm, quiet, easy to find, good location, nice hot shower and very, very cheap for central London.

The hotel would benefit greatly from major overhaul, re-vamp, decoration as this lets down the side a little. Plus would benefit from having all the rooms in one building, thought his was not a problem for us.

The service was excellent, me and my partner were told if we would like to swap the hotel room with a studio flat close by with parking sapce incl. cose the hotel was very busy. "We reserved a triple room. When we checked in we were given 2 double rooms instead at the same price, a big savings. This was fine for us as my daughter is 23, but if we'd had a younger child it might have been a problem. The rooms were in a separate building a block away actually closer to the station, a separate little row house. The decor was very nice. Cleanliness could have been better as the corners of the shower had black mold or mildew and along the baseboards the carpet looked very dusty as if it hadn't been vacuumed there in months. Bed was comfy and everything else was great so I'd say overall it was a positive experience." (97283006)

My room is opposite of reception at the first floor. so when people shut the main door, it makes noise and my room shakes. also when people check in, it makes noise too. speed of internet is quite slow. bed sheet is not clean enough. a bowl is very dirty. when entering inside the bathroom for taking shower, there is no door; just a curtain. pay 1 pound for leaving luggage if guest comes earlier before check in time.

"We are not complainers and do not look for problems. We are laid back and were not expecting much but this hotel really was the worse we have encountered by far. Basic is fine but dirty and smelly is just wrong. We were limited, as this was the only room in Central London which could accommodate a family of 5 but it is so bad we feel a trip from the Health Inspectors would benefit. These are beautiful old houses on an amazing street in Central London-it is shameful that this hotel has become so disgusting and continues to take peoples money." (97370431)

Central location, check in - fine,

Dirty room, bottle tops on floor, skirting boards filthy, quilt covers dirty and smelly, shower awful - full of mould, 1 towel between 5, No tiolet paper, toilet floor (and mat) soaking and unclean and very smelly. Really horrible.
