Good situation, near bus service to Londom down town

Customer service could not be faulted. It's a long time since I have encountered such personal attention and courtesy, even in higher graded hotels. The staff are to be congratulated.

Minor point really but the cooked breakfast, although fine in quality, was rather odd I thought - no bacon or sausages - just beans, eggs, mushrooms and tomatoes. The bathroom was miniscule and would have been no good for anyone bigger than us and we are small!!

    "Terrific" (97122237)

Excellent value for centre of London. The shower was terrific and new. Everything was spotless. The staff were very nice, especially the staff people at breakfast. (and breakfast was very good). Will definitely recommend to friends.

The only criticism I can think of is that the bedspread was a little old and frayed and the towels were pretty thin. The extra pillows were a good feature but keeping them in plastic (in London) made them a bit mildew smelling. But otherwise it was great.

Good location. Not as expensive as other hotels.

Kitchen staff close the doors to the breakfast room earlier than they should (breakfast ends at 10am on the weekend but they locked the doors at 9.45am and wouldn't let us have breakfast on the saturday!) They also try to rush you out by putting everything away whilst people are still eating.

"THis was convenient for what we needed - a place for one night close to Victoris station so we could catch the train to the airport in the morning, but I wouldn't recommend for a location for a lenghty stay to see London. " (97584056)

Room was clean, bathroom was a good size and everything worked. Close proximity to Victoria station

The room slanted very noticably to one side so the positioning of the bed had our head lower than our feet by about 6-8 inches. We used anything we could find in the room to prop up the head of the bead to lessen the impact. Was not comfortable sleeping position. Room was small. We had a hard time fitting 2 people and our luggage without stepping all over each other. Electricity went out at one point and we had to call down to get them to check. Hallways in the morning were crowded with laundry bags, towels, cleaning supplies, etc. -- difficult to manuever suitcases around. Breakfast does not include any meats (sausage, bacon, etc.) which was unusual compared to all they other places we stayed for the same price range.

"The hotel is situated about 5-10 minutes walk form Victoria Tube and Coach Station. The staffs were helpful in storing our baggage before/after our check-in/check-out. The rooms are clean, towels, wardrobe, TV, kettle, tea/coffee, towels provided. There is a thermostat fitted to allow us to adjust the temperature in the room. The shower/toilet is clean. Breakfast was better than expected (mushrooms, baked beans, boiled/scramble eggs, tomatoes, cereal, yogurt, fruits, coffee, tea, fruit juice all provided in buffet style)." (99501787)

The hotel staffs were very helpful at handling our baggage storage. The rooms were clean and the facilities were adequate. The breakfast selection was better than I expected. Definitely a good value for money.

The hotel is easy to find, and my personal details were quickly processed upon checking-in. The staff are warm and welcoming and issued me with a detailed map of London along with other places of interest to ensure the accessibility of my stay here. The overall cleanliness of Hotel was of excellent Standard, and The room quality was of optimum standard. It was certainly professional and well maintained. The facilities in the room added to the comfort of my stay. The Breakfast room was clean, bright and and warm. The Hotel has certainly put in a lot of effort to cater for it's guests and this was shown by providing a wide range of delicacies for breakfast of continental tastes. It was like being in a top city hotel. I would certaily commend this hotel for any traveller." (3305504128)

The room was newly fitted out, and it was clear that thought and care had been put into layout and design. The location is excellent, in a pleasant area, just a few minutes walk from Victoria station, and the hotel provides very good value for money. I shall certainly be staying there again." The staff were extremely polite and friendly. The room was adequate but comfortable.

Improvements are needed in the general interior of the hotel and also in the facilities which are quite basic. The bathroom was probably the worst part of the room and was in need of refurbishment.

"The hotel was alright - not the cleanest ever, but at least the bathroom was in good order and clean. Other than that, the fact that there is no lift and the stairs are fairly narrow, and that the room door didn't close properly, it was alright. I was a bit concerned about leaving my laptop in the room though when I went out, as the door, although locked, could have been fairly easily pushed open. The hotel is alright for budget and non-pretentious holidays." (2485102)

the hotel was fairly cheap and central, close to all transport.

The hotel was very old and a bit grotty...perhaps new furniture and fittings

"The hotel's location is a real plus. It's a short walk to Victoria Station and tour bus stops. The common areas and rooms are somewhat outdated in decor but always clean. Great water pressure in our first floor room. Be sure to ask for a fan if you're traveling during summer months." (2403827)

Reception staff were very knowledgable and helpful. Our room was actually bigger than I expected.

There was a small mix up with our room assignment. We hauled our luggage up 4 flights of stairs only to find our room was still occupied. The hotel staff quickly and efficiently handled the problem, assigned us a new room and moved our luggage.

I have stayed in other hotels with all non-smoking rooms and with a room up six flights of stairs you don't want to have to go outside to smoke. Very good value for money. Staff were very friendly and accomodating and helped with luggage. As a woman traveling alone this was very helpful to me. Would not even take a tip for the service. "I was very close to most of the main tourist attractions, close to Victoria Station, which meant that I could access many more points of interest. I arrived at least 4 hours before the hotels' stipulated check-in time but I was given my room as soon as I got there.(After travelling for 8 hrs with a 5 yr old, I almost worshipped the check-in guy)On my last visit to London 3 yrs ago I had to leave my luggage at the front desk of another hotel and come back later to check in. I was given so much advice from the conceirge on which places my son would enjoy, the cheapest places to pick-up some bargains and the best mode of transport on how to get there. All in all I saved a lot of money. Thanks guys. I will be coming back to London and I wlll most certainly be coming back to Hamilton court Hotel." (1770260)

The windows were broken and I could not lock them properly- meaning the noise from the busy road outside was unbearable. The worst nights' sleep i've ever had! Staff were unapproachable and were sat watching TV everytime I saw them. I asked if there was a breakfast room and a man pointed in a direction- i never found it therefore went without anything to eat. I would never stay here again and would never reccommend it!" "I would have liked to have known how small the room was. It was basically a bed and little else. The room also had poor ventilation with one old wooden window the only source of fesh air. Also the noise from adjoining hallway could be easily heard in the room. The en suite was as basic as possible. For €50 per person, it was a bit much. Also Consider that we had to climb 4 flights of stairs every time we wanted to go outside. The breakfast was especially poor. They advertised a full english breakfast as part of the price but we didnt consider one fried egg, some beans and one pice of bacon as a full english breakfast. Toast was also available but I was expecting more. Overall, I think I have learnt a lesson about booking online, and that is to make sure you know exactly what you are getting. I did not see any pictures of the rooms in the B & B before booking and that should have warned me. The central location is really all that this place has going for it. It is near the Victoria station." (1677152)
