    Nice and clean bathroom

The friendlyness of the staff at reception - we were upgraded free of charge as they had no triple rooms left - even better as we were there celebrating my 40th birthday.

Lack of hot water in the shower in the mornings and the hairdryer tubing was split so it was unuseable

"We ordered a tripple room ensuite for 3 male adults. We were expecting 3 single beds, but got 1 single and 1 double. We also had to ask for an ekstra cover for 1 person to the double bed. No big problem but unnecessary when 3 male adults are staying together." (97694924)

Nice room, perfect distance to the city center.

The staff in the breakfastroom didn't ask us if we wanted coffee or tea and toast. We had to ask for it.

I also saw staff booking people into rooms for multiple nights but not telling them about the hot water situation - when the staff had no idea whether or not it would be fixed." (97896462)

Excellent decorative state, clean, tidy, high quality furnishings, all facilities in working order.

My room faced the street, and I was disturbed by traffic noise. No free internet access. Shower controls not up to standard of rest of hotel (mixer from bath taps).

The overall experience was not that good, hotel needs to improve the condition of its furniture and facilities.

Housekeeping never show up, room doors make too much noise when it close which wake any one up from sleep. Any one can easily hear people in other rooms, which is very disturbing

I found that the staff were pleasant and helpful...the room was clean and tidy ..there were plenty of refreshments ie tea, coffee, water etc. There was also air conditioning..bathroom was clean too.

No bad points during this visit. We had to pay for parking at another hotel which I had not been made aware of. There should be some parking concessions made.

The bed was very tatty looking on the uncovered bases, the carpet in the room was not very clean as we had flee bites the next morning but the braekfast was nice & i went out early to get milk for coffee as there was no one at the reseption to ask for any & found out that the houtel a few doors down had better facilities & rooms which i asked to see before staying & it was cheaper too. It was £125 per night as where the waverley was £159 & did not feel we had our monies worth. We will not aray at any of those hotels again . We had better for less in alot of hotels but that place was horrible & well over priced Infact i had better when i stayed in a shared room in a hostel years ago. We were able to check in 3 hours earlier than expected. The staff at reception were very friendly and knowledgeable. The hotel was in a good location.

The shower didn't work properly- it was impossible to get the right temperature, and the shower door fell off every time we pulled it open or shut. The bedrooms were noisy, you could hear the other guests in their rooms and bathrooms.

"I enjoyed my stay here very much and would certainly return again." (97894660)

Location and price were the two biggest values for me. The hotel is within walking distance to major London attractions. The room was small but comfortable for one person. The staff was friendly and accommmodating.

There was really nothing to dislike. I marked fair in the question about equipment only because the down function for the lift on the 6th floor was out of order. But it was not a major inconvenience once one realized one could simply press up to call the lift. The only other thing I would mention is something really out of the control of the hotel: the noise on the streets on Saturday and Sunday nights. Perhaps quicker calls to the authorities would be helpful to stop the inebriated young men from shouting at the tops of their voices --

"Lets put it this way... if its just for one or two nights and for the location, its acceptable if you could close one eye on details such as cleanliness etc ( Its not horrendously dirty but certain things that are expected compared to other 3 star properties are not there). For longer stays, I'd go somewhere else." (97228146)

The location is definitely a huge plus. Service was ok but could be better and I've noticed that it depends on the mood of the staff at that particular moment. Great that they served breakfast till 11 am.

Cleanliness is definitely an issue. The hotel should either get a more powerful vacuum cleaner or they should change the carpet (definitely overdued), window difficult to close after opening; remote control is no longer sensitive (really need to press very hard to get it working; Linens were fresh but there were alot of hair of different lengths sticking on it( should probably rinse out the washing machine that they are using); Temperature regulator of shower is not optimal; tea, coffee etc were not replenished on the second day; New matresses are overdued (I could feel the springs the whole night and had problem sleeping in it).

Really good location for Convent Garden and Neal Street and the theatre on Shaftesbury Avenue, in walking distance to all which was great for getting back after the evening performance and also well located for restaurants, also only one tube stop from Kings Cross. I also liked the fact our roome had a bath.

The breakfast was lukewarm and the service poor.

Check-out and restaurant service very friendly and efficient.

Bathroom was old, water temperature varied and was very difficult to regulate, shower head too low and unflexible. The glass lift and support structure hasn't been cleaned for many months! Check-in 31.12 07, approx. 13.00 hours, aloof and a bit arrogant.

Room 606 must be the best room in the hotel. It was high enough to avoid the noise of traffic and had windows on two sides, making it light and airy. The presentation of the room was exemplary: it had been well-cleaned and offered everything necessary for an overnight stay. The breakfast was more than adequate and well-presented. Staff, particularly reception and breakfast were effective and concerned. I have already recommended this hotel to friends as ideal for London theatres and events, particularly if you can get room 606.

Very little. If pushed: the return on the toilet cistern handle was a bit slow. Nothing that a dab WD40 would not solve!
