"The website suggested the rooms had more character than they did. The bed was comfortable and the hotel was generally pleasant. We would recommend the hotel to anyone who was looking for an inexpensive place to stay for a couple of nights but not for anyone looking for a holiday." (97901886)
Location
Room was quite cramped

There was toilet paper.
We choose this hotel because it presented a 3 star category. This hotel was no where near a 3star hotel. Floors creaked like I have never heard a floor creaked before waking us up. bedding and bed where terrible. Nice original fire place, shame it was behind a bed. Same wash basin in the bathroom as I have in my professional kitchen to wash my hands (except mine was 15 years younger). No towel rail, No shelves, no shower gel complimentary usual to 3 star hotel. No shaving socket. A minuscule desk with nothing to sit. A kettle (to fill with a glass because the sink was so small) and right next to it a 4 socket extension representing an obvious issue of electrical safety. Wall paper scratched all other the room. General decoration looked the same then it was 20 years ago. Still looking for the back garden.

"Georgian's house hotel is centrally located in London. The Victoria coach station is only 5-min walk away and the Victoria railway station 7 min. They've got nice breakfasts and excellent services. The only problem for me was the noises from the wood floors. When other people got sleep, I got sleep soon." (97996180)
The room is clean and comfortable, the breakfast nice, and the service excellent.
noises from upper floor when people walking around

"Generally OK, CLEAN TIDY & nice rooms in easy walking distance to Buckingham Palace." (97251475)
The rooms were very clean and tidy. Food was very nice.
Staff looked very miserable and the breakfast room at times got very busy and residents had to queue. English Breakfast was served straight away before we had finished our cereals. The decorations need some attention in the rest of the hotel. Some help with luggage would be apreciated I am sure especially with older people.

"Would not hesitate to return! " (108067922)
Staff very friendly and accommodating. Slightly surprised to find accommodation was to be in a different building, but this was not inconvenient. A lovely area to stay, very central for our purposes. Nice and quiet in the evening, plenty of room in our apartment.
Only one small point - our building appeared under some renovations inside and the top of the stairwell was filled with materials and furniture. This made it a little difficult to manage baggage around corners.

"I would recommend this hotel, with some cautions, especially about the noise level. Granted, it is not located on an extremely busy street, but there is enough traffic at night to be bothersome. The main noise problem is internal, especially with creaking floors." (97692370)
Good location; friendly staff; adequate breakfast; fair price. The room was very small but that was not a serious problem.
Noisy rooms (both from traffic and creaking floors above my room).

"OK for price, basic but clean." (97458387)
clean, reasonable price, close to good restaurants and tourist attractions, friendly helpful staff, clean.
no lift, friend's room wasn't ready when she had been promised an early check-in, breakfast room not big enough for number of guests and we had to wait for a table, tiny bedroom, noise from traffic.

"Overall very expensive accommodation and quite possibly the worst night's rest ever imaginable! The hotel was more akin to a hostel than a hotel and very dissapointing." (97442264)
Good central location close to many attractions and Victoria bus and train station.
It was unbearably hot in the room with no airconditioning even though it was only 15 degrees out I can't imagine what it will be like in the height of summer. The toilet / shower room was the size of a closet and very uncomfortable. The linen supplies was very dirty and infested! You could hear people coming back from a night out at 3am quite clearly above you with the floorboards creaking whenever someone upstairs moved.

"As an overnight stay the room was adequate, it was close to Victoria Railway station and so met my needs. The room was quite tatty, paricularly the ensuite. The noise control was not good, I could hear conversations of people in the next room and floor boards were really creaky in rooms above. Staff were friendly and the price of the room was very low compared to other hotels nearby." (97431607)
Central and easy to get to. Efficient staff.
Noise control. Walls were thin, road noise was loud and floor boards were very creaky. The room was tatty.

They were efficient and full of good advice. Unlike some of the other reviewers we had no problem with noise. We would happily stay again." (97053184)
friendly staff, pleasant, safe atmosphere, comfortable beds, quick service at breakfast, freshly cooked food, lovely street, great for taxis on road nearby.
bathroom very small and shower had broken tiles and looked scruffy.

The staff were very friendly and the acommodation was very clean.
The sofa beds were very uncomfortable as they dipped down in the middle. Also we were put in different room on the next street to the one we'd originally booked. I think you should be notified of any changes to your bookings in advance of your stay.

"The room was clean and comfortable, albeit small - the staff was friendly and helpful. The bathroom was small but with new fixtures - very efficient. Internet access was available - including Wifi . Breakfast was good - nothing fancy but quite adequate. No air conditioning - but that wasn't an issue as the weather was cool and wet! The bed was quite soft - not so good for those with back problems, I would think." (45549388)
The location was excellent - very close to Victoria Station - easy walking distance even with baggage!

"The hotel is ideally situated within a few minutes walk from Victoria Station. The staff were friendly but the reception was rather cluttered. There is a very small lounge but this is part of the main reception area. Our room was situated near the top of the hotel (65 steps from the Ground Floor) and there was no lift. The room contained a small TV, tea and coffee making facilities, hair drier and a trouser press. The bed was on the hard side and the bed sheet, although clean, had small holes in it." (99360062)
Close location to Victoria Station
Bathroom had musty smell and needed refurbishment. Restaurant was very small. Had to wait 15 mins for a table to become vacant.

"This hotel was an excellent value. The room was a shoe-box, but was clean and comfortable. It truly exceeded my expectations given the quality and relatively low cost. Like any hotel suite, the room could have always been fancier and larger, but then the room simply wouldn't have been available at its price. I've stayed in numerous hotels that were significantly more expensive and not enjoyed my stay so much. I would highly recommend any budget oriented traveller to stay in the Georgian House Hotel." The hotel was situated in a good location and the checking in process was quick and easy. The room had everything you could want, was clean, tidy, nicely presented and decorated. The staff were very friendly and helpful. The breakfast was lovely and the staff, again, very friendly and helpful. The checking out process was quick and simple. I would DEFINETLY stay at this hotel again - both for business and leisure. I would definetly use the Active Hotel web site again also. Thank you very much for making my stay" (99575213)
