"OVerall we were very pleased with the hotel amenities. I do have one complaint however. We booked dinner in the hotel on the Saturday evening which was actually for my partner who was 60. We were shown to our table but after 10 minutes of waiting no waitress appeared to take our wine order. There were plenty of staff setting tables but not one of them came to ask if we were OK. I would expect that in a hotel of this standard that there would be a better service than this. Eventually my partner had to go to see the hotel mananger to get our wine order taken. We spent a lot of money that evening as we did not order a cheap wine and overall I donot think we got the service that we should of had." (97160751)

"We had a great stay at this hotel, staff were very helpful and if anything was needed it was got for us straight away. We got to the hotel early but that was not a problem as we could use the leisure facilities whilst we waited. Breakfast was very nice and a wide selection. The only complaint if you can call it that is check out, a long wait, only one person at the reception desk to serve." (97103666)

Excellent service from the staff and the leisure facilities, great for the 6 year old

We booked a double room but received a twin room instead

Excellent quality - poor overall experience

Orderered adult movie. Was very shocked by extremely violent nature of film. expected a soft pornographic movie (as is the norm with hotel films) but was shocked to be greeted by quite aggressive material which made us both feel uncomfortable. I am not easilly shocked but was made to feel quite uncomfortable by the abnormal entertainment provided as "normal"

"generally a pleasant stay, apart from the first morning at breakfast there were no glasses or cups/mugs available although 1/2 staff were on duty guests had to ask for some to be made available this could partly be due to the fact that we appeared to be in an annexe to the main restaurant as the following morning we were put into the main dining room and everything was fine" (97658714)

Nice position. Good breakfeast choice. Friendly staff.

Car parking charge for staying guests. No complimentry toothpaste or shower cap. Although can be had from reception, not going to happen when you are just going to get in the shower or get to bed late.

"We really enjoyed our stay and would definitely return. We found Stratford a beautiful place full of interest and great, not only for theatres, but for pubs and outdoor activities, such as walking, rowing on the river and just watching the activities on the canal" (107137085)

A large and busy hotel across the road from the town centre. Nice lounge areas and bars to relax. In the grounds there were picnic tables in a lovely setting by water. The staff were helpful and friendly. Many good facilities such as gym and small pool (which we didn't have time to use). Our en-suite room was large, comfortable, clean and the bed was excellent. Fresh towels each day. Breakfast was very good, with lots of choice, helpful staff and lots of room in the dining area.

The only one small criticism was we ordered cheese and biscuits at the lounge bar as we arrived. It was over priced at £4+ each. The cheeses were tired and the side-salad and chutney were poor.

"On the basis of my stay at Stratford-upon-Avon, I would certainly book a Holiday Inn again for a short stay or as a base for sight-seeing." (107193868)

The hotel appears to be aimed mainly at the conference and business user, but nevertheless, was comfortable for a short leisure stay. The staff were very pleasant and helpful and I was grateful for the complimentary toiletries service, as I had forgotten my toothbrush.

The carpets in the corridors could do with a good clean as there is a very unpleasant smell of stale tobacco and general mustiness. The checkout facilities at the desk are a bit laborious. It would be much better if one till was devoted to express checkout.

Check in staff very apologetic--they had had a particularly bad day and I appreciated the complimentary bottle of wine !! Staff generally very pleasant.Bed very comfy.

Confusion at check in. Wrong keys .Room change needed. This meant considerable delay before I was settled in my room. Bedroom toilet flush poor action.(Idid not report this) Self service Breakfast(excellent food) but must be difficult for those with shaky hands, elderly etc to carry mugs of hoy tea. Seemed probably short of staff to help.Bedroom radio lists Radio3. not there.(I wanted to listen to Promenade Concert.) Suggest deleting radio 3 from list . It was Classic FM.

    Friendly staff, good breakfast.

Mobile phone went missing whilst at hotel - we had it in reception during the early hours of the morning and a member of staff aranged some drinks for us - I think he was Italian, no other guests around but phone not handed in. Bit disappointed and asked at reception 3 times but nothing handed in.

"The hotel is well situated for leisurely stroll into Stratford and the theatre. It is easy to find and there is a very large car park (£5 for guests but this can give you almost 2 days parking depending on time of arrival and departure). The hotel is spacious, and staff polite and efficient. We didn't stay in for evening meal. Breakfast is a self service buffet of good quality. However, at busy times it is not a relaxed afair. The room was well equiped, clean and comfortable. It was quiet and had good curtains. The best night sleep we'd had for some time! It was excellent value for money and we would highly recommend." (97401247)

Comfortable, quiet room. Efficient staff and excellent location

Breakfast was completly self service and too busy. e.g. didn't bother waiting in the que for toast to be cooked.

"Hotel is conveniently situated for the town. In good weather would no doubt be pleasant to walk around the grounds and down to the river. It provided what we required for a 2 night stay. It is in many ways a business hotel rather than providing personal atmosphere. It was very full and there was some difficulty keeping up with the suppply of hot food and cutlery at breakfast. Sports club a useful facility. Hotel essentially does the job but buildings somewhat outdated in style with long corridors and nothing special or memorable about it." (97908342)

Very functional room but adequate and clean.

Impersonal atmosphere in a very large hotel which was very full.

"A very restfull two days in Stratford; good food, service and comfortable bed. The beautiful weather added to the joy of a trip on the river from the hotel's riverside facility." (97541847)

The 45 minutes river cruise facility and the seating area near the river bank provided us with a restfull day on our tour.

Being asked to pay for our accomodation up-front. A deposit should have been sufficient.

"We came as part of a party of 10, all of mixed ages. The check-in process was smooth and our needs were accomodated for easily. The hotel bar was pricey but in-line with most hotels. The setting is beautiful with lovely views of the river and a very short walk into the main town. The leisure facilities were adequate, the pool perhaps could be bigger for the amount of guests. Breakfast was good but chaotic and there were long queues for the self-serve hot food and drinks." (97528906)

Good on-site facilities, beautiful setting on the river, clean and spacious rooms.

Hotel is huge! Long corridors on 3 floors, like a rabbit warren!

It was very central, and the parking facilities were good, even though you did have to pay. The charge for parking was extremely reasonable for the centre of Stratford. The double room was spacious- even with a z-bed for our 10-year-old son. We were really very pleased with the accommodation.

The room was a little pricey, even with the discount.

Our room was a good size with a clean and airy feel to it. The kingsize bed was very comfortable. The en-suite bathroom was clean and well stocked with nice white towels. Choice of padding in pillows. The breakfast had a good selection of food and drinks and well worth a visit.

Paying extra for the car park. Check-out desk making mistake with nightly charges, even though our stay was for just 2 nights! Staff slow to clear the dishes at breakfast.

It is situated in a beautiful spot. We spent Saturday evening by the river Avon sharing a cool bottle of white wine!
