"This is the third time that we have stayed at the St Giles and again the overall experience was nothing less than very pleasant." (97097981)
Staff are polite and helpful, cleanliness of room not to be faulted, overall organisation is very good.
The step down from the shower is rather high, making one feel that without something to hold onto could easily lead to a fall. We were disappointed at having to accept a smoking room on our first night, however it was corrected on the second day.

"Very poor indeed" (97349082)
Online booking efficient
Extensive list. Generally very slow/poorly organised and pedantic. Booking in took ~45 minutes and so made us late for an evening appointment. Bureaucracy over procedure for using leisure club meant I was eventually unable to do so due to limited time (a mjor reason for choosing the hotel!).

The hotel was very clean and the staff were very friendly and helpful, the meals were delicious and very reasonable.
There was nothing to dislike I would certainly recommend your hotel to everyone I know.

"Room was functional, hotel was well-located for my purposes, and staff were helpful, particularly the concierge staff." (97751949)
Room basically worked as needed, except that toilet-paper holder was broken. Coffee-maker in room.
Drink machines on lower two floors would not take Pound coins; no apparent effort being made to fix them (desk staff said they "sometimes work"). Room was very small.

"I would prefer to have my bill pre paid when I booked on line. This is the case with most on line booking. I only realised it was not paid a few days before I arrived at the hotel. I mentioned this to the check in clerk and he said a lot of guests make this same assumption." (97583940)
Good
Room had very little natural light, so was dark during daylight hours.

"The check-in was a little slow and when we arrived at our room it was still full of someone else's bags. The staff were appologetic, and gave us another room straight away. The location was fantastic, we were able to walk to China Town for a meal and then onto the theatre and walk back again. The only downside was inadequate double glazing that let in a lot of city noise. We would book again, but next time we would ask for a room facing the rear rather than the front of the hotel." (97090529)
Central Location, very reasonably priced
Poor double glazing letting in a lot of city noise

"The hotel was on the whole good. But when I arrived the reception was very busy and the person who dealt with me appeared to be just getting me through as quickly as possible. They were not friendly and not at all welcoming. My room was good but, the toilet seat was broken some off and some of the other fixtures in the bathroom were either not there or hanging off. The pay per view TV had a very poor reception and stopped working after 3 days." (97203170)
The location of the hotel was ideal for me.
Some of the staff and the state of the room when I arrived.

"I would definitely stay again due to location, price (although not cheap, is fair) and size of room, plenty of hot water and cleanliness. Staff are friendly." (97470426)
Location, clean, comfortable
Check-in process took 30 mins. Not a fault of the staff though (7 in attendance) but the que was lengthy. It was probably because it was Friday (people spending the weekend in London), London marathon runners booking-in?, large hotel with in excess of 600 rooms, and the fact that I turned up at 2pm, being the earliest check-in time etc. etc. I seem to have a problem with hotel showers. This one had a faulty join where the hose met the head. A jet of water was shooting in the wrong direction but it was only a minor irritation. I still got plenty on me. I should have mentioned it on check-out but didn't think of it.

"Overall the hotel was in a perfect location, everyone was friendly and helpful, especially the concierge gentleman. The parking is ideal as it is below the hotel, and the price is not too steep. I would have liiked to have known that the hotel is located in the one way system as for an tourist it was quite hard to find. The directions need to include drivers. The hotel itself was ideal for what we needed which was just a bed, secure place to leave luggage and a secure parking space. I would definetley stay there again as i know it is ideally located in the heart of the nightlife." (97534161)
I liked the fact that everyone was really helpful especially the concierge desk. The parking was £15 for over night, which i think is not too bad, knowing my car is safe at night. The location of the hotel was perfect as it is in the heart of bars and pubs and music venues.
The room was a bit small for the price and the blinds were useless at keeping the light out. But all in all did the job we needed it for.

Although compact it was comfortable, we liked having the bedroom and lounge as separate areas and all the accompanying facilities were fine.
Not so much a dislike, but the shower cubicle could do with an upgrade.

It was in a good location to the Dominion Theatre which is why we were in London. Staff seemed helpful.
The room was very small, although it had a small sitting room it was still very disappointing, We were told that if we had a smoking room it would be better quality, so not sure what a non smoking room would have been like! The bar was also vey small for the amount of rooms in the hotel.

"Overall this hotel was adequate, however I would not recommend it to those staying more than a night or two, and certainly not to light sleepers. My friend and I found the rooms extremely hot, even though we had no radiator on. There was no air conditioning, and as the windows only open a few inches, the air that gets into the room is very little. Outside many rooms on a particular side of the hotel there is some sort of ventilation system which is on 24 hours a day. It is extremely loud, and opening the window at night makes it all the worse. I am a light sleeper and found it impossible to get any rest because of this. The room itself was not large, but cosy and bright nonetheless, and the beds were very comfortable. There were plenty of spare pillows and blankets, and also lots of towels. The shower head is not adjustable, so this is a minus point for anyone who isn't 6'3, but that's just an observation. A point to note; if you don't plan on getting up early in the mornings, do remember to hang the 'do not disturb' sign on the outside of your door. Room service can arrive at a revoltingly early hour in the morning! There is a concierge service, but if you intend on calling for assistance with plans etc., I suggest leaving it before or after check in/out times, as they become manically busy. Staff seem friendly enough, although they don't always remember to restock the tea making facilities. All in all, I personally wouldn't return to this hotel because of the noise and heat factor, but perhaps guests who are used to staying in a big city would not notice this at all. It's a good place to stay for a night or two, but definitely not much longer than that. I expected more, judging from the first appearance of the plush entrance foyer, but it's close proximity to the tube and shopping areas make up for it. Happy holidays to all! :)" (97859779)
Very central, close to tube station, close to shopping district/other amenities
Rooms too hot, windows do not open very much, noisy ventilation system outside window
