"Unfortunately this year spoilt by the weather - it rained non stop. However not the hotels fault and the room was comfortable enough to read and watch TV as required." (97242836)

This was our second visit to the hotel. We use is it as an overnight stop when we come to Calais to do shopping. It is very easy to find from the tunnel terminal and is certainly the best value for money we have found when looking for accommodation. A very big plus is the on site parking. The rooms are quite adequate and clean and the kettle is an extra advantage not always found in french hotels. The staff are all extremely friendly and helpful and the breakfast is very good. This year we actually had an evening meal there which we could not fault. The location is another plus - right on the sea front with good walks and a choice of restaurants if you want something more up market than the hotel.

    Nothing major.

"Goiod for a couple of days." (97364334)

Easily accessible from the Tunnel and for local shopping. Ground floor rooms easy access to parked cars.

Request room for disabled, but only get a reply about a non-smoking room rather than yes a disabled room is available or one is not. This would be helpful.

from Allhallows , GB on  May 30, 2008

"Overall, stay in hotel was adequate for a one night stay in that particular area of Calais. The quality of food both at breakfast and in the evening, plus drink making facilities in room, made up for the shabbiness of the room." (97228755)

receptionists very efficient, spoke excellent English, food in restaurant in evening excellent and buffet breakfast more than adequate. Kettle with tea and coffee making facilities was good to see.

Room very small but adequate for our needs, in desperate need of refurbishment as tiles in bathroom in need of work. Bathroom also has visible damp areas.

"Basic accomodation, clean room comfy bed. TV with English Channels, even if they were a bit fuzzy." (97665330)

    Value for money.

Public areas of the hotel could have been nicer/tidier.

  • 7/10 Anonymous (Mature couple)

"We have stayed in this hotel on several ocasions in the past. It is idealy suited for our shoping trips to Calais. We did enjoy our stay but not as much as previous visits." (97769307)

It was clean and tidy. The staff were helpfull

Type of guests in the hotel seemed a lot different than when we have previously stayed in this hotel. There seemed to be a lot of single men staying in the hotel, working away from home, who were using the resteraunt to drink, without eating, and watch football on the telivision.

  • 8/10 Sara (Mature couple)

from Ross on wye , GB on  April 27, 2008

"The hotel was very nice. The one small comment is that no-one was on reception when we arrived and we were kept waiting quite a while before someone came." (97093998)

    The bed was very comfortable

  • 9/10 Anonymous (Family with young children)

"This was a very pleasant hotel, well located with excellent friendly service. The room was fine - a bit cold initially but warmed up once the heater was on. The restaurant was reasonably priced and the food quite tasty. The buffet breakfast was excellent and really good value at 7 euros - free for children under 12." (97679494)

The room was clean and the space was adequate.

The room was a bit cold and there were plastic cups for the tea and coffee in the room.

"There is a bus from the ferry port into the town - (Place de Armes)- From here, it is a 10-15 minute walk to the hotel or you can get a taxi for around 6-7 euros. The town is a lovely place and has various restaurants and bars to eat and drink in. Food ranges from French, spanish, italian. A recommended place to eat a variety of fish is called 'La Mer'. The Kyriad plage hotel is good to stay in for a couple of nights. Rooms are a reasonable size with Tv (6 english channels), Kettle & ensuite bathroom. It is right on the sandy beach which is lovely to walk along." (97675842)

Hotel is on the beach, nice location - 10 minute walk to the town.

No mini fridge in the room.

"The staff were very helpful and found us a twin room as requested. The dinner was very good and service excellent. It would probably be helpful to have a definate twin OR double column on the internet site so that even if you request a twin or double you were sure that this would, at least, be possible at source. The staff all speak English well and this is helpful if you are doubtful of speaking French. The rooms are always clean and we always enjoy our stay with you." (97090986)
