    The receptionist was very helpful.

The service at breakfast was extremely poor, I had to ask the waiter to bring us some coffee and we weren't offered any toast. I believe it was because we were a young couple and didn't fit in with their ye olde decor.

"Reasonable value for money. A few little things, like decent decaff coffee and some staff traning, would make all the difference." (97476777)

The breakfast was pretty good, and they were flexible enough to let us overflow into the "evening" dining room when the breakfast room became full. The location is good, about halfway between the station and the city. Secure parking is available, albeit behind a sister hotel across the road and at a fee.

Decaff coffe was undrinkable. We told the waiter this, but were charged for it anyway. The cleaner decided that the toilet was a good place to put a face flannel and shower hat. The room was a little cramped, and had a great view... of the bus station. The shower was an instant electric unit - merely adequate - and there was no bath. Toiletries (shampoo etc) were not replaced when used up.

My response to the room quality question was based on the room originally assigned to us. It seemed too small and too noisy (overlooking the street), but when I asked about a room change we were most pleasantly surprised by the availability of the 3-person room--much better in all ways (well, having more than one window would have been fully perfect)!

    See the above explanation.

The bathroom was tiny a in room 209 and anyone of large build would not be able to sit on the loo. The matress was hard, worn, noisy due to knackered springs and full of ridges. Not a pleasant experience at all. The matress was changed after I complained but it was not the correct size for the bed." (97227862)

"The hotel was very clean and well presented, breakfast on the 27 April was of an exceptionally high standard. The room was very clean but as stated not what I had expected for the title executive and the price paid. One further point i feel i must mention. I rang the front desk from my home on the Friday prior to my stay and inquired if it would be possible for the hotel to book me a five seater taxi for 18.45hrs on the night of our stay (26 April 2008), i was told this would be done. At about 18.30 on 26 Apr I informed the male member of staff on the front desk that when our taxi arrived myself and guests would be in the bar and if someone could let us know, I was told this was not a problem. The gentlemen on the front desk then remembered taking the call as it was him that I spoken to the previous day. He admitted that he had forgotten to book it and said that he would do so straight away. At 18.45hrs when the taxi had not arrived I went back to the front desk to speak to him again and informed me that the taxi had been and gone, he had forgot to inform us of it's arrival. He apologised and then ordered another taxi which arrived at 19.00hrs, subsequently we were late arriving at our destination. Although a minor point I would rather be told that a service is not available than be told it was and then be let down at the last minute." (97760241)

The accommodation was very clean, set out well and had in it all the required accessories.

The room was very small and not what i had expected as an excecutive room. The bed was also very small.

"I suppose I could have called the front desk to ask if the hotel was burning down, or run downstairs in my sleepwear to ask. I think they should have been able to turn it off faster. The room was very small, but I don't require much space. What annoyed me was the chair that took up about 20% of the available floor space, and served no useful purpose. I think it was just there because Best Western probably requires some kind of furniture in addition to a bed. I thought about putting it outside in the hall, to make it easier to move around the room." (97587986)

I feel that the website fully informed me about the hotel previous to booking and there was nothing else i felt i required to know." (97522874)

Staff were very friendly and helpful. Hotel was in a good location ideal for walking into city centre. Hotel was clean, comfortable and decorated to a good standard.

"In the past when using this hotel I have been impressed enough by rooms to book again, I shall in future request a proper double room size." (97340413)

Hotels' position relative to city centre. Best Western group hotel.

The room allocated was a single with two large {3ft}single beds zipped together making for difficulty in moving around the room, and only one side of the bed had easy access. it was obvious that this room is also used as a twin, with the one bedside cabinet moved to between the two beds. This room should only really be used as either a single {for which it would be ideal} or a last resort twin/double at a reduced cost due to it's lack of space.
