    "very good hotel " (97107537)

The hotel carpets have seen better days. thu lets the hotel down, as we found it to be a clean and friendly hotel with exellent facilities.

    "Very comfortable." (97827246)

Nice room, comfortable beds, hotel location in quiet residential road not far from our daughter's University accommodation. lovely meal in the restaurant. wide screen TV in the bar. Friendly staff. easy parking.

lighting in room could have been brighter. breakfast poached eggs a bit hard. but these were minor things. overall we were very satisfied.

  • 5/10 Graham ( Solo business traveller)

from Hatfield , GB  on  April 9, 2008

"Good location, previous good record not maintained. New bedroom styles uninviting, restaurant service at breakfast very poor. Overcharged when invoice presented." (97424738)

    Setting of hotel. Easy parking.

Old world charm of hotel has been destroyed by re-vamp of bedrooms in modernistic style which is at odds with building. Great disappointment to see what has been done.

    "I would stay again." (97515140)

I was staying with my sister ( we were visiting my daughter). Good location. Clean accomodation - bed very comfortable as was the room. Friendly and responsive staff.

Room was very hot but we were able to open all the windows to cool the room down.

a character property, much better than a high rise type hotel block

  • 7/10 David ( Mature couple)

from London , GB  on  October 5, 2007

"A really nice environment, with friendly staff, in a really nice building. I'd certainly stay at Hayley's again when in Leeds: the dinner and breakfast were both first class, and it's much nicer than the more anonymous type of city centre hotel." (97978629)

Very welcoming, with good food and very comfortable public areas.

Our bedroom and parts of the corridors clearly need upgrading - some carpets are badly worn, the window in our room did not open, and the heating was difficult to control. The bed in our room was a drop-down / stow away type, which was comfortable but a little small.

  • 7/10 Anonymous ( Solo business traveller)

    on  October 1, 2007

"The hotel has a very homely feel to it and would be a lovely venue for a function or small wedding breakfast. The check-in was not particularly informative - I had to ask about breakfast times and location and there was very little interaction. Overall a lovely destination hotel, perhaps not suited to a single female business user - in fact it had quite a romantic feel to it and so I missed my husband even more!!" (97111083)

The room was very spacious and elegant

For a solo business traveller the restaurant was a little expensive and so I ate out.

  • 9/10 Emilia ( Solo business traveller)

from Velikiy novgorod , RU  on  September 25, 2007

"the hotel for a quiet and comfortable stay if you'd like to go away from the noisy city. Perfect to enjoy the classical English style. Close to the city centre" (97118712)

The hotel is beautiful and stylish from the outside and inside. Very clean and tidy.

  • 9/10 David ( Solo business traveller)

from North queensferry , GB  on  September 23, 2007

"This was an excellent hotel and very close to some lively and accommodating bars. The staff were extremely pleasant, very polite and willing to help. The food was good but slightly expensive. The room was well above the standards I was expecting for the price and the bed linen clean and fresh. Nicely located with a country feel and only a short walk from the town centre. Personally I would recommend this hotel to anyone looking to visit Leeds and the surrounding area. I can only say I was extremely impressed." (97061414)

The accommodation was on a par with many more expensive hotels that I have visited and certainly well above average.

I appeared to have piped floor music early in the evening but this ceased around 21:00-22:00.

The hotel was very comfortable and relaxed.

I wasn't convinced that the bathroom was very clean, although all other areas seemed fine

  • 10/10 John ( Solo business traveller)

from Reading , GB  on  July 7, 2007

"I have stayed in Leeds quite a few times in city centre hotls, but Haley's out performs them all. A beautiful period building. Rooms to a very high standard. FREE wifi - no more of those annoying charges per minute. I didn't eat in the restaurant, but it smelt good and is a well thought-out simple classic-british set of options that promises high standards. A litmus test is always breakfast. At Haley's its one of the best I've had. Everything cooked to order, its not one of those dreadful limp-hot-buffets. I tried the eggs benedict and the full-english, both were excellent. Basically if you are staying in Leeds, don't bother with the city centre. Just take a trip of a few miles up to Headingley and stay some where cosy and classy - Excellent for a family or couple." (99024637)

Beuatiful classic hotel very well kept and excellent breakfast

    from Swindon , United Kingdom;GB  on  June 1, 2007

"The location is great - very close to Leeds and within very easy walking distance of the cricket ground. Although it was near to a busy raod into Leeds, the surrounding area made it feel like we were out in the country. The staff were fantastically friendly and helpful (bookings taxis, printing directions from the internet, giving view on local restaurants etc). The welcome was bery warm. Best of all, the restaurant was fantastic with an excellent seasonal selection and good choice of reasonable priced wines. Thank you!" (99941851)

Great setting and extremely friendly staff. Wonderful restaurant with a very tempting menu.

Room could have been a little more spacious, but it was very clean and comfortable.

Quiet & comfortable, dinner very good, but not cheap

Accommodation very good. We stayed in a standard room which was fine for our one night stay. We would use the hotel again but may try a bigger room.

I liked all aspects of this hotel. Worthy of mention is free internet access.

The restaurant is very good but prices are much too high.

    The TV didn't work properly

  • 9/10 Stefania ( Solo business traveller)

from Binfield, bracknell , United Kingdom;GB  on  August 19, 2006

There were some personal touches in my room, such as a welcome letter addressed to my name and soft cat with a note around the neck saying Hello...please put me outside your door if you would not like to be disturbed.. I thought that was very cute! The restaurant is the best thing, the food and service are wonderful, just what you need after a long day of travelling for work.

    Nothing

    nothing.

Room comfortable and clean. Good breakfast.

The smell of smoking in the bedrooms - my parents had to change their room because it was so overwhelming. There was also an overpowering smell of room spray/deodoriser in the corridors, presumably to disguise the smell of smoke. The ironing board needed a new cover!!

  • 8/10 David ( Mature couple)

"Excellent staff though, who could not have been more accomodating. Would definitely stay there again." (3304818435)

Big rooms, big bed and general quality of the furnishings. Very favourable impression of quality

Shower not brilliant and the mirror in the bathroom was fitted above the toilet, not above the washbasin - bizarre.

    from Chepstow , United Kingdom;GB  on  May 28, 2006

"The hotel was very nice indeed, i would have expected a double bed though for the price i paid and a tv of a decent size. The food and restaurant service were excellent, staff very on the ball and friendly, attentive. Food was very good as were all of the facilities. I would stay again. This is a little expensive though for what the room offers, other than that i cant fault the hotel." (3304691301)

    friendly and helpful staff

noise from music nextdoor, staff sorted this after 2 requests

  • 9/10 Anonymous ( Mature couple)

"We enjoyed our stay and will definitely stay again. The hotel was well decorated, warm and comfortable. The facilities were good and of a high standard and there was ample parking available. All the staff were helpful and accommodating." (3304670833)

The room was very comfortable, the bed was large and comfortable and the bath/ shower were of high standard ( most welcome after a lengthy walk)

2 ladies were talking very loudly (cleaners - I think) outside the room at 8.30am, seemingly oblivious that this was a Sunday and guests may have been sleeping. 2 items from the breakfast menu were 'not available' (pastries and eggs benedict)
