good staff friendly good service, location and parking

Booked a non smoking room and there was a strong smell of smoke in the room, carpet could have done with a cleaning.

"From the moment we arrived, the staff were extremely helpful. The check in process was swift and even thou we arrived early (there was over 20 of us)most of the rooms were ready and we were able to check in. The reception staff were extremely helpful with information about the area. On the day of check out the staff were very happy to secure our bags for the day while we went off sightseeing. The hotel and accommodation was perfect for our group and the weekend went really well, everyone had a thoroughly enjoyable time !" (2649225)

We liked the location of the accommodation, it was very central and close to everything we needed for our weekend. Perfect !!

On the whole the hotel was great, some comments were made on the cleanliness of the swimming pool and perhaps some of the stairwells could do with a lick of paint but to be honest, these are not things that would put us off from visiting again !!

we were warm wellcomed and really impressed by the receptionlist !

Because the room, which we stayed, was not well checked before we moved in, we had to changed twice .

"The leisure centre was great(pool was clean). The pub was nice and comfortable. The hotel is within walking distance of the main shopping area and pubs. There is only one small hill to climb!!" (3305034440)

The room was modern, clean & airy. It had plenty of TV channels and it had a iron & ironing board, (without having to ask for one).

Alot of the lights in room were not working and the bath handle was close to coming out of the wall.

No light in the entrance room, 2 of the 3 bulbs missing in the bathroom, missing bulbs in the room, no WC paper holder, no or bad hotwater circulation network, noisy outlet of ventilation system just in front of the room window, vapour from the outlet, high parapet

"From the moment we arrived we knew we were going to have a good time. The reception area was immaculate and the staff really friendly and helpful. The rooms were much better than expected. There were 6 of us and we had 3 rooms all of which were comfortable, clean and very well maintained. All the hotel staff were friendly, efficient and helpful. The bar was very accommodating (we went to bed at 3.30 one morning and they still served us!). The bar food was excellent and good value for money and the breakfast was amazing. Everything you could imagine including scones." (3304127575)

The rooms were large, clean and smartly decorated, the beds were really comfortable

    nothing

"The hotel was clean, the staff friendly and helpful. Other than not having enough sheets and having to ask for them everyday, there is little that I was disappointed with. The hotel is centrally located and the pool and spa area was impeccable. I plan to stay there again." (3304304702)

The cleanliness and spaciousness of the rooms. The restaurant and bar served excellent meals. The pool area and spa were wonderful.

We had to ask for top sheets for the bed almost every day. They did have duvet covers but they were too warm. The spare bed in the room did not have any sheets for two days. The smoke alarm was disconnected.

"Very friendly ,accommodating staff; good recreational facilities; convenient location, attractive bar" (3304215018)

good leisure facilities - gym, sauna, swimmimg pool etc

general decor in rooms - bathroom needed refurbishing, walls had holes where fixtures had come out; heating in the room - we were told that it dodn't come on until 5 pm but then it still didn't

"It would perhaps be worth letting weekend guests know that the swimming pool is out of bounds due to lessons on Saturday mornings. The hotel is well situated in the city and would benefit from some weekend offers with ryanair. We enjoyed our stay and our room was of a very good standard." (2942392)

The staff were very welcoming and helpful, the room was of a good standard, and the leisure facilities are superb.

I think the lift needs renovating, and that the room was a little overpriced considering it did not include breakfast.

"The ten minute walking time to Cork Railway station was way wide of the mark.......I am not Linford Christie! Was more like 20 minutes! Lack of early breakfast and distance from railway staion is why I am unlikely to stay here again." (2822368)

Start breakfast earlier or at least offer a continental buffet breakfast earlier than 7am

"A good hotel for the business traveller and for the weekend visitor as it is close to the city centre but not somewhere to spend more than a few nights." (2765600)

    Close to city centre

Car parking was limited and the wall of the corridor leading to the room was damaged. The room itself was small with little space around the bed

    Clean, spacious and comfortable

"Overall our stay was very pleasant. The only thing that would have been helpful was better directions to find it. We arrived by bus and had a difficult time finding the hotel initailly. Perhaps it is easier when driving." (2253861)

Lillian at the front desk was very friendly and helpful. The views from the rooms were also very nice.

The restaurant was very good, but the service was a little slow. I think this may have been due to a large tour group being there and the staff being low at the time we were staying there.

    Spacious and comforable room

The room in which I stayed had no internet access which meant more downtime than anticipated and was quite noisy as it was right beside a door which was on a self closer and constantly banging due to guest traffic.

"As indicated in my previous text, I was delighted with the staff at the quality hotel but the vastly inflated hotel rates in Ireland in comparison to the rest of the world would encourage me to take all my trips outwith Ireland where there is much greater value for money." (2286835)

The staff were very helpful , very friendly and displayed a very comfortable and polite manner. When we arrived the 2 girls at reception could not have been any more pleasant or helpful to my wife and I. In fact I went to the trouble of phoning the hotel yesterday to compliment the girls on their attitude.

Although I shopped around before booking the quality hotel I still maintain that hotel prices in Ireland are vastly inflated. In the past 5 years I have stayed at the vast majority of major hotel chains, ie hilton, marriot ,loews etc. the highest room rate I have paid for any of these 5 star hotels has been £55 sterling, obviously this does not add up when the cheapest (reasonable standard) hotel in Cork was yours at 99 Euro.

"The hotel is excellently situated near to the city centre, the reception staff are extremely helpful and willing to go that extra bit to help in any way.Bar staff appeared disinterested, lack of motivation complete contrast to the other staff." (2452038)

the cleanliness, helpfulness of the staff (other than the bar staff)

alternative lift,if the main one is out of order (at it was during my stay) I was on the top floor and have a disability

Friendly, clean, welcoming, nothing was a problem, relaxing pool and sauna/steam room - so much so we didn't even venture into Cork city!!

    None! Great value for money!

"Description on the internet described this hotel well. I booked it as it said close to town centre and it was, leisure centre was good and the staff were very helpful. Rooms were clean and iron and hairdryers were all provided whic saved carrying them on a short break away. The lifts were inadequate, there was only one and it was very busy, we had to wait a while for it to arrive, and the stairs were not very well signed." (1807687)

Excellent facilities and staff in the leisure centre. Hotel staff were very helpful, Close to town centre so in the heart of all the city action.

    Very satisfied.

    Roomy. Good quality fittings.

The room could have been better lit and was a bit sparse on furniture.

I forgot to pack my charger and left it in the room (123). I contacted the hotel the same day, but did not get the idea that this was treated with enough respect. Staff were very pleasant and effecient. We had a problem with the lock on the door and the problem was rectified immediately. Bar food was excellent value.

Parking was a bit restrictive. We had to use on street parking first night.
