Unfortunately I had a room next to a family with young children who were running up & down the the corridor outside my room until gone 11 o clock and then took ages to settle down in their room - not ideal!

The staff were lack lustre and appeared unsupervised. we ordered from the al a carte menu but were not happy with the meal, we have had better "pub grub" and on our second night ate out. althoug we weren,t looking for anything special we were not impresses with the hotel and could not recomend it to our family or friends, " (97157647)

"It was only one night but I loved it the accomodation was great and the bar and restaurant very cosy and friendly. Had my 7 year old daughter with me and she loved it particularly the pool. I have stayed in lots of hotels for both leisure and business but this has to be one of the nicest because of the style of building and not just a normal regimented hotel with tiny rooms. Staff were just so friendly and very good to my daughter." (97549823)

It was different and not your usual norm of hotel, lovely scenery and position. style of hotel was lovely and old.

"Would like to have known that the hotel was hosting a large wedding party on the night we stayed! The size and arrangement of the common parts of the hotel does not separate hotel guests from members of a private party and the only lounge was being used by the wedding guests so there was nowhere to sit after having dinner except in the public bar. Car parking is probably adequate for hotel guests but not if the hotel is hosting a function such as a wedding party." (99022551)

Food was OK. Bed comfortable. Shower was excellent. Reception staff offered to store some chilled food we had purchased in Scotland in the hotel fridge overnight, which we greatly appreciated.

Poor decor and furniture in room and poor finish to bathroom fittings. Dining room communicates directly with bar and therefore noisy.

(99615383)

The hotel was clean and the food was excellent.Hotel staff were clean freindly and very helpful.Drinks at the bar were reasonable.

The bed was lumpy and creaked all night just moving an arm or a leg, we did not get a good nights sleep at all
