"It was good and very central to where we had to be on the Sunday." (108092590)

The leisure facilities were great! The Manager was really helpful with our queries. The Restaurant was very clean and the food was good.

Telephone not plugged in. Very lumpy bed (which was 2 single beds together) so very uncomfortable! No paper delivered as requested. No wake-up call as requested.

    "Good experience" (107280866)

Soft play area and indoor pool, good sized room, good breakfast

Lift a bit old and dodgy (once stopped 6 inches from ground, another time the doors would not shut, so I went down the stairs)

"If you improved these small things the hotel was a good stay. " (108040904)

the staff were excellent and room service was great and the food nice.

The bathroom was showing black markes all over the tiles (needed re grouting badly) there was a yellow substance like glue on the panelling. The iron did not work in the room, nor would it appear the shower (at least we could not get it to work.)

"We were mostly happy with our stay. Some parts of the hotel are showing their age, but, for the price we paid, it was acceptable value. Our room was spacious and airy. " (108077239)

Friendly and helpful staff. Layout and facilities in bedrooms.Excellent location. Cleanliness of bedroom and bathroom.

Slightly confusing description of family room - had to phone to make sure I could book it for my 3 adult daughters - it was fine in the end. Dated and grubby decor in restaurant at breakfast. Creaky lift. Shower extremely hard to turn off with wet hands.

very pleasant stay, only there for one night but would use again to visit daughter more who is at univercity.

some of the furniture in reception ie table was not in a nice state. and walls and doors going to room were a bit scruffy, on first impressions.

    Very spacious accomodation

We asked at the reception on several occations for another cup for our daughter to drink and did not receive this when I complained to the receptionist on the morning of booking out she exlaimed that it was the porters duty. When I stated to her that it was her job to pass our request on to the porter she said sorry? Overall not good enough.

"First impressions of the hotel were good. Reception staff were very friendly and informative and the process was quick. We booked a family room and found it to be clean and tidy and ideal for a short break. The only criticism of the room was that it was very hot even with the window fully open. Breakfast was of a very high standard in a very pleasent enviroment. Swimming poll was good for this size of hotel however male changing room was tiny with no locker facilities. Lounges were pleasent places to relax and the snooker and table tennis rooms provided leisure time if required. A small informal garden looked a nice place to relax on a sunny day,. An indoor play area for the children was great for the kids. Overall a welcoming and friendly hotel with great staff, well worth a return visit." (99210995)

Very clean tidy rooms and attentive staff added up to a relaxing short break

Lovely spacious family room. Nice restaurant, good choice of breakfast and dinner. Good bar food. Plenty to keep children occupied.

Shower was leaking water all over the floor. Not sure if there was a staff shortage as the reception and bar areas were not always manned.

Strange buzzing noise in bedroom all night. No heating in room so got chilly at night. Unable to watch the sky tv channel as it kept being interrupted by whoever had the sky remote. Pool good and kept kids entertained." (97755097)

The hotel was very warm, the bed was very comfortable and the towels were nice and big.

The lady on reception Portia was particularly helpful when I asked to change room as 150 was way too noisey for me to be able to sleep in. Within minutes she had transferred me, arranged for staff to help me move and I was all settled very easily.

    Tea and coffee making facilities

I had a choice of signs to display. One saying beware of dog in the room. The idea that a dog could have been laying on the bed put me off. Dont get me wrong, I like animals but not on my bed.

YOU NEED AIR CONDITIONING, ROOM FAR TO HOT. NOT GOOD FOR OLDER PEOPLE, ALSO TAPS IN BATHROOM VERY HARD TO WORK (VERY STIFF). ALSO OUR ROOM OUTSIDE THE LIFT WHICH IS FAR TO NOISY WHEN IT CLOSES WITH A BIG BANG. (ROOM 122) ALSO THE IRON WAS DISCUSTING.

"Clean, tidy hotel, with friendly staff. Breakfast was good. Our only real problem was that the cold tap in the bath didn't work, and there was a light bulb missing from one of the bedside lights. Despite reporting these problems on our first morning, they were not fixed, nor was there any sign/message that anyone had even been to look at them. I'm sure this as not a reflection of the hotel as a whole, which offred reasonable value for money." (3304739850)

Location, staff, relaxed but professional atmosphere, swimming pool

Room was very hot (yes, it was hot outside, but there were obviously hot water pipes running through the room as the whole floor was hot). Two problems reported on our first morning were not addressed - including a non-working cold tap in the bath.

Breakfast was great, no queues which was an added bonus. We all felt that the hotel was excellent value for money. I would recomend this hotel to everyone, in fact we are talking about returning in the next couple of months." (3304561595)

clean, staff were really helpful in fact they could not do enough for us. We had some champagne that we needed to keep cold and they happily put it into their fridge for us. Nothing was too much trouble.

"there was the anuual dorset sporting dinner and also a salsa night on at the hotel. i was not advised of this when i booked otherwise i would have booked elsewhere. it meant that the dinner was an hour late - served at 9.15 when table seated at 8.15. the waitress gave us a discount which was the £4 supplement for the duck - but that was not worth the £18 anyway. it took me about half an hout to get two drinks from the bar as there were the sporting club guests all crowded in the bar. because i was not wearing a dinner suit i was not taken any notice of until i protested to the bar staff and some of the club members. there were also limited parking spaces becuase of the dinner and it seems as if the hotel did not reserve any spaces for guests so it meant moving the car off the street into the car park later on after the dinner. i was going to ask for some kind of refund but i was in a hurry to get to my appointment. breakfast took a while to arrive (the toast) because of the fullness of the hotel. then we only got four slices between two of us and there was no earl grey tea. the waitress suggested i should look for some earl grey tea on the breakfast bar. i didn't think that was my job but i did and there was none! seeing as you asked i thought i would be honest this time." parts of the hotel looked shabby - taped carpets, stairwell bare concrete, pool changing rooms basic and looked tired, lockers without keys, second visit no shampoo available in the shower, busy breakfast time - hot food slow to arrive at counter, bread rolls basket slow to be re-filled
