I booked this room on behalf of my son who was on a late flight. On arrival at the hotel he was informed he would have to stay elsewhere. No-one rang me to inform me of this even though my contact details were given for this purpose. He was also charged more for the replacement hotel even though told that he would not be.

"Excellent - this our second visit to this hotel." (108018703)
I have no complaints whatsoever. Despite our corridor being in the process of redecoration, there was no inconvenience. The decorators were polite and considerate. Located opposite Bristol TM station makes the hotel very easy to find.

"The room price shocks a U.S. visitor accustomed to Holiday Inn prices at home, but seems to be the norm in the UK. Staff was very helpful. Breakfast buffet was good. Room and furnishings were modest but clean and comfortable." (108052610)
Excellent staff--friendly, cooperative. Good location.
Painting, redecoration was going on in the hall where we stayed and was a bit disruptive. We had to climb over paint buckets and wall paper to get to the elevator. At one point, I had paint all over my hands.

Good beds and bathroom
Room and corridor smelled of Pledge plus the fire alarm went off at 3.15 am, that was awful. Letter under the door explained that a shower had set it off? Noisy outside, sounded as if there was a disco in the hotel.

"I only stay here in an emergency - and this experience reminded me why." (97587107)
It was available at short notice
Noise - I try not to stay here - dustbin men every moring at 5.20. Walls paper this. Food is dire - drinks from a machine - but you get what you pay for!

"Hotel was clean, comfortable with pleasant staff. Also it is in a great location opposite Temple Meads station which was very convienent as we were taking a train journey most days through out our stay. All in all we plan to use the hotel again when we return next year." (97471936)
It was comfortable and clean without any undue noise.
No complaints at all.

"i thought the standard of the room was v good but the overall stay was seriously let down by the breakfast experience" (97555215)
the room was comfotable, clean and quiet
i thought the breakfast provision was v poor indeed. i would have liked,as abasic provision, fresh coffee, the orange juice was also v cheap quality. i was unpleasantly surprised to find a large TV on in the breakfast area (showing football)

"I would hightly recommend this hotel to anyone ona short break. The rooms are well equipped for a short stay and the location near the station and easy access to the city centre adn bus to Clifton Village is perfect. Overall, the staff were excellent. The night porters were extremely friendly and willing to help out with all our needs and the reception staff were very approachable and human. I would definitely consider staying again on a subsequent visit to Bristol." (97774286)
The location was perfect - just opposite the station and extremely easy access to buses at the station up to Clifton Village where I met friends.
The only negative point I can think of is the location on the main road but really that was an advantage due to location but unable to open windows for the noise.

Overall the hotel was clean and comfortable with just the one small oversite of a less than clean toilet." (99286689)

"The only trouble I got into was arriving late at night. I was booked in quickly and efficiently, then given a swipe card - with this card I could not open the second double door leading from reception. I went back bringing suitcase and was given another card, which again wouldn't open the door; third attempt, third card was successful. I approached my room door with shaking hands and at first it wouldn't swipe, but after many attempts it did. I usually travel with my husband who is accomplished at these things, but I only just knew about placing card in slot in the room for the electrics to come on. There must be other people like me who have lived overseas for a long time and been a bit out of the game? Apart from all the above, it was perfect and a nice, friendly hotel." (99373719)
It was extremely comfortable. The breakfast was good. All the facilities were good but the hair dryer didn't work, or maybe it was me.

"There was limited secure parking and I had to use the car park next to the hotel with a meter. It was extremely unsatisfactory having to get up early after a long journey to go and feed the meter and to keep making sure that the meter did not run out whilst I was there. The hotel was cheap but not in the centre of town as I had expected. I would prefer to pay more for a better quality of hotel in future." (99758782)
The room was clean and modern
The facilities were basic with no luxuries and the parking arrangements very poor. The continental breakfast left a lot to be desired!

"I beleive there should be food available all through the day especially afternoon and dinner more facities such as sky sports fruit machines and a better bar with a wider variety of drinks. i also feel I paid £77 and i didn't get value for money the room was adequate every where else was being decorated." (99892800)
The room was good.
there was decorating going on and limited facilities also i wasn't happy with the continental breafast I think there should be a choise of fry up or continental and finally there were no facilities in the hotel just the TV in the bedroom.

"The availability of late night takeaway service was crucial to me as I arrived very late and hungry on new year's eve due to a delayed flight and was helped by the night receptionist to get some food delivered just before midnight, not an easy request to fulfill. Also the morning receptionists remained pleasant and efficient with all guests despite some monstrous walking hangovers to deal with.As a female guest I felt safe in what was probably not the safest part of Bristol around the railway station. The location was perfect for the airport transit bus." (99648325)
modern fair sized room, effective double glazing, comfortable beds with plump quilts, clean, great spacious shower, proper soap dispensers, important details such as tissues and facecloths, well sized, good quality towels, and essential room facilities such as wake up calls, internet access, sat TV, tea and coffee and hairdryer
Room card keys are hit and miss to open the door, annoying when tired and carrying heavy bags.Having to open 2 or 3? heavy doors with luggage to get to the lifts. Automatic doors would be an improvement.

"I would not recommend this as a hotel to be stayed in for a holiday, but would certainly recommend for business or short stays. It's basic, but clean and modern. The staff were very pleasant and the room very nice. I would definately choose a Holiday Inn Express again." (99889955)
The night staff gave us a warm welcome on check in. The room was very clean, modern. Particularly liked the handwash facility in the en-suite; our name displayed on the TV was a nice touch too.
We arrived very late in the night, and did not notice how dirty the landing carpet was until leaving the morning after our stay. It was discusting; definately needs some attention.

"The strange part about booking was that breakfast was not included so I expected to go out into the city for breakfast. However on arrival I was told that we were entitled to a complementary breakfast. This was a continental buffet type breakfast which was fine by me and the free newspaper was there. Why keep breakfast a secret?" (99825863)
modern.functional.within walking distance of city centre.
Terrible smell in bathroom on arrival.I cured this by turning on the shower to put water in the plug hole (U bend or trap) to stop the smell of the sewers coming up through the shower drain. On the second night the secure parking spaces were full so I had to park in the adjacent public car park where I could see the broken window glass in the parking bays. The parking charges display notice was ambiguous to me.You could pay to park Saturday night until midnight but the period from midnight to 5a.m.did not seem to be covered so you could not follow through to pay for Sunday morning.Anyway I didnt get clamped or a fine.

"Easy to find and convenient location near main railway station and museums. Limited on-site paid parking that costs about £2 a night. Only continental style breakfast available but free refills of drinks and bread etc mean that you can eat enough to suit your needs." (3305161756)
Convenient, easy to find location
Small pillows and hot stuffy room - couldn't open the windows due to excessive traffic noise.
