The hotel is beautiful, with great facilities and a lovely restaurant. there were no problems with the suite-it was very big and had all necessary functions
i found that the staff weren't as friendly as they could have been.

EVERYTHING
The fact that you had to wear a swimming cap to swim

"I booked a family room for myself, wife and two children. On checkin we were informed that an extra bed should be already in the room for the younger child but if that there was any problem to immediatrely contact reception, there was no need as the room was as we had requested. The younger child was impressed with the games facility on the TV. The decor in the room was modern and in very good condition. We ate in the hotel restaurant on our first night having been given the option of reserving a table at check in. While the menu in the restaurant was not extensive it offered a good variety of choices for both adults and children. The food arrived quickly and was exactly as ordered. Service was excellent despite a large tour group arriving during our meal. Breakfast the following morning was buffet style and offered a wide choice of cooked foods, cereals and pastries. We also used the leisure club during our stay and again this was spotlessly clean and offered a variety of facilities. I would highly recommend the hotel particularly to famalies with children." (3304666407)
The accomodation was modern, reasonably spacious and spotlessly clean. The hotel restaurant and Bar area were bright and spacious. The restaurant and bar staff were friendly and very efficient there was no waiting or trying to attract attention.

"Hotel is extremely large and can accomodate ( several hundred rooms ) many. Bus tours coming in were overwhelming and caused a lot of confusion and at times, rudeness for current guests. Staff at hotel did little to smooth the process of large crowds coming and going. Had we known, we would have stayed at a smaller hotel where it remained more peacful and quiet as were other places chosen." (3304217742)
location close to downtown sites, clean, basic rooms,
family room for four is so small you can barely get around each other, with little room for luggage for four as well.Seating in room accomodates one person which couldn't be accessed due to size of room.

"the only reason i picked hotel was for my daughter casey but when night came told not aloud into lobby after nine but when i looked in there was aload of kids when i asked staff they said i could not go in even though the other kids were aloud, my daughter started to cry as a friend she met there was in side so we went to eddie rockies and went to bed instead ,my only problem is u treat all kids the same and to be told that my husband was annoyed ,we book into galway for race week every year and this has turned me off it ,all hotels in galway i stay in have the same rules for all ,i would recommand this for a couple as we attended booking this for the june bankholiday but we will have to go back to corrib to which we stay 10-12 times a year but choose to give this hotel a try , sorry about this but this was only problem i had and to me it was a big one, hotel is lovely though only recommand without kids" (3304543124)

"We had a very pleasant stay. We covered a wide age range - 12/14/54/76 - an everyone enjoyed their stay. It took a while to get used to the size of the hotel. It was quite a long trek to our rooms and from our room to the Leisure Centre. I particularly liked the communicating doors between our room and my grandchildrens room next door. The hotel was spotless and beautifully furnished. I have been singing its praises since returning from my stay." (3304500365)
Child friendly - up to 16yr old activities. Safe location.
Took a while to get used to size of hotel - disance to our room 3079/81 from Reception/Restaurant. Distance to Leisure Centre.

"having been from Dublin we didn`t know much about were to go at night-time or what could done to pass the day. we onl;y found one leaflet in reception about activities but that was for Clare. Maybe leave an info booklet on Galway in the rooms!? Other than that i absolutely love the hotel, we stayed there last year when it had just opened and it was great to see that it has only improved. it was well worth the drive!!" (3304313652)
I liked the modern yet cosy feel to the hotel. I found all the facilities to be excellent and i throughly enjoyed my stay.
Yes in our room three of the four lamps were not working and the press was also out of action. also I think when booking on the internet, it should state clearly what amount has been paid and what will be owed to the hotel on arrival.

"Very pleasant and helpful staff, even the housekeeping staff greeted you while passing on the corridors. Rooms were clean and spacious. Extremely comforable beds so one is assured of a good night's sleep!! Overall, a very pleasant stay." (3304098548)
Room was warm and spacious. Staff, including even the housekeeping, were pleasant and helpful. No noise pollution, peaceful and very comfortable beds.
Dining room is a little on the 'dowdy' side, some plants or ornaments on the partition between bar and dining room would not only enhance the restaurant but would allow a little more privacy for those eating along the partition.

"It was easy to find! The price was fairly reasonable. The room was cool. The activities that were available was great although we didn't get to go to any of them. It was very family oriented! I would difinately stay there again if I was ever in the area again!" (3304042796)
It was easy to find with the hotel's online directions! The room was very modern and cozy. I liked that they activities for guests and that they varied with age.
Nothing I can think of.

"Overall the hotel was good value, but was let down by poor housekeeping. In the room several items of equipment did not work and on two days the servicing of the rooms was cursory ie beds not made and rubish not emptied. We had to complain about this. Shame because otherwise it was OK" (2557810)
Room was good but quite a few things were broken. The pool was great!
The servicing of the room was very poor. We complained.

"Enjoyed the stay - two kids 12 and 9 really made the most of the pool and the Friendly Fellows. I also enjoyed the facilities and staff were most helpful at all times. We were all reluctant to leave." (2312077)
Fresh clean restful room with nice fluffy white duvets.
Perhaps because it was a bankholiday weekend - there did not seem to be enough staff to cope with the volume of people ordering food - Barfood was up until 8.00pm but it took over half an hour before any one was free to take an order wh=ich meant for some that it became too late to order. I noticed a foreign gentleman looking for water at breakfastime - maybe it would be possible to have jugs of water as well as organge juice/apple juice.

"The main problem was that the hotel was in the middle of renovations which would have been good to know beforehand. There was a lot of building work and every time I drew the curtains (we were on the ground floor) there was a digger or a workman or 2. The swimming pool area was also not yet connected to the main building so we had to walk outside to get there. It was all a bit chaotic (incl. check in etc) probably because of this and I'm sure that once everything is done, it will be a great hotel." (2339511)
Very new and modern - room like a 4 star hotel.
Food - the restaurant food was awful (we couldn't eat the dinner, too dry/salty esp for the kids). However the staff were brilliant, very friendly esp with the kids and when we complained about the food we were offered free drinks and were not charged for the meal. Service was excellent.

"We got a good deal for what is a really good quality hotel. This was probably partly to do with the ongoing renovations. The hotel is well situated if you are driving but is a little too far outside the city centre on foot. It would be helpful to have room service food and bar snacks available in the evening especially if you arrive in the evening as we did." (2327314)
Good quality comfortable hotel, well located for Galway and the surrounding area.
Do something with the weird hot water system in the bath! Finnish refurbishment programme. Provide better food options in the evening.

"After the refit/rebuild, the hotel still resembles a building site in parts.Plaster powder from sign screw holes still on the carpets, lifts grubby and smelly, sink tap lever in bedroom came off in my hand.Flush plate on top of cystern was loose.I am booked again for Galway races and am bringing 3 very important guests - I only hope things have improved a lot by then - being that week, everywhere else is booked up now." "Our stay was enjoyable - the only downfall being the fact that I was not asked at the time of booking if I wanted a smoking or non-smoking room. Unfortunately we were given a smoking room as there were no non-smoking rooms available at the time. Should this question not be asked at time of booking??? Also, the remote control for the TV in our room did not work. We did request that this be fixed, using the card available for such things in the room, but it wasn't fixed during our stay." (1420838)
Room was bright, airy, clean & tidy and bathroom very nice. Lots of storage space.
Were put in a smoking room as no other room was available.
