    "Very friendly staff." (107176535)

We were in the front of the hotel and the windows were thick enough to keep out the traffic noise. Ideally situated for the lower (the shops) and upper (the walled part)town.

The usual no tea and coffee facilities in the room.

The staff were friendly and very welcoming (e.g. allowing us to secure our bicycles in their garage) - a definite asset.

Walls were a bit thin, room was a bit dated.

"Lovely waking up to the sound of gulls ( fortuantely not too early), close to all the quaint shops, trendy restaurants, cinema, markets & squares. The cathedral & fort are up a long hill & the exercise was needed. The 8% beer was excellent as are the steaks, cakes & coffees. Bologne was too hilly to hire bikes so we walked everywhere. The aquarium ( largest in Europe) is outstanding. Sand surfing was too expensive as you have to hire an instructor for the 1st time but the walks on the beach/ promenade made up for it. Didnt swim as the sea ( coolish) was only safe one day. Great for a weekend getaway & close to fabulous Le Touquet. Busses just as efficient as the trains at half the price." (108019840)

Very helpful staff & friendly couple & 5 yo son run the hotel. The location is excellent & although the hotel room is small, it is adequate due to the balcony & large bathroom. Very clean throughout. Recently decorated. Great breakfast. Centrally located.

Bedside light was broken, but the hotel was aware of it & will call an electrician this week.

    "Very enjoyable." (107134138)

It was pleasantly decorated and the staff were very friendly and helpful. Good location also.

The shower was a little cold in the afternoon and the matress could have been better quality.

We had a very friendly greeting on arrival at the hotel, I speak schoolgirl French but am by no means fluent, the couple running the hotel went out of their way to ensure that we had all the information we needed about the hotel, the breakfast and the surrounding area, giving us a map and pointing out our location, the parking areas and places of interest. The hotel was spotlessly clean and very well run. I will definately book the hotel again when we return to Boulogne.

I missed a kettle so that I could make a drink in the room, but I am aware that providing a kettle is unusual in foreign hotels. That is not really a dislike, and the hotel management would make a dring for us if we wanted one. Nothing else to dislike.

"The rooms were really clean; the staff incredibly friendly and helpful. They gave us a map of the area and suggested places to eat. They also saved our car from being locked in an underground car park all weekend! Lovely friendly atmosphere. Wonderful breakfast brought up to our room. No complaints at all and would heartily recommend staying at Hotel Alexandra - just watch out for the underground car parks in Boulogne!" (97659214)

The staff were extremely friendly and welcoming. A lovely family run hotel. Very clean. Delicious breakfast. Couldn't have wished for a nicer place to stay.

"The hotel staff were very friendly and made for an enjoyable stay. The only drawbacks were not having free car parking facilities (but there is free street parking not far away, and pay parking close by); also the room above our room (no.8) sounded as if it had a hard floor and we heard someone walking around on it during the day, but not during the night." (99998942)

If you are on the large side the shower in our room was extremely narrow to enter and the sink was very small. An ok hotel for a person who doesn't require luxury" (99813825)

"We have stayed in this hotel before and found that there had been improvements, especially to the reception and dining area at front of hotel making it much better. The lady on reception was very pleasant and helful. It was generally what you would expect from a 2-star hotel only we felt that the bathroom facilities could do with a re-furb. Having said that the bathroom was clean." (3304408399)
