"I absolutely loved it and wished I could have stayed longer." (107293568)
I arrived after a long and difficult day and was delighted by this wonderful hotel. The staff could not have been friendlier and the room surpassed expectation. Beautifully decorated and comfortable. It was a real joy to find that not only was the bathroom huge but it had a window and lots of natural daylight.

"Excellent situation, & superb 3 course meal for £25. Meet & greet by porter, with umberella!" (107215389)
Country House Hotel 20 mins. from central London. Very quiet area, surrounded by well kept gardens. Good links to central London. Good size car park, with cameras overlooking.
Bathroom needs a good overhaul Bedroom a little worse for wear

"This is a lovely hotel at which I have stayed before and would stay at again. It is set in delightful grounds but the gardeners woke my son at 7am by talking under his open window for some considerable time. " (97288730)
Reception staff professional and courteous. The rooms for my son and I were lovely and comfortable although last time (September 2007) we had nice feather quilts, not polyester.
Lady on duty at the restaurant check-in was discourteous. I understand the need for a reasonable dress code but my son is a penniless student, staying only one night before leaving with me for home. I took my money and we ate elsewhere.

"the only thing that i was not overly disappointed in was that when i booked on line i requested a smoking room, only to be told when asked that all the rooms were non smoking, which if i am honest did not concern me to much as it may have spoilt the ambience of the hotel.however this must be made clearly to your guests that book on line. But this has not deterred me from staying at the hotel again in the near future. i loved it." (97038344)
The view from our bedroom window was beautiful, the room spacious, comfortable and welcoming, also so relaxing and peaceful.

The hotel & grounds were so beautiful. The hotel quiet at night, it was so calming after a day spent site-seeing in Central London.
Had trouble with the shower. Keep going hot, cold, hot , cold but it was livable.

I thought the bedroom was lovely and I loved the colour coordination.
I though the toilet was slightly dirty and could have done with a bit updating.

Everything other than below was excellent.
The only thing I'd complain about, is that the mattress felt very old. I could feel all sort of springs, bumps in it so i would replace them. Also the shower was old fashioned and the handles everywhere were old brass handles from the 70's. It does need an upgrade to the 21st century!!

"Pretty good value accommodation for the quality of the hotel and service. The dinner menu looked pricey but we arrived too late and ate at the bar, which was more affordable and served food till 10.45ish, and where they had some lovely live music - a trombonist and pianist. The room was quite small and stuffy, but had a very comfy bed, lovely soft sheets and great views over the fields. Service was really friendly and helpful. The breakfast had a really good range of treats like fancy yoghurt as well as the classic fry up. They also made us some simple sandwiches on request to take as a packed lunch which were lovely." lovely gardens, good service
room too hot and hard to reduce temperature even with window open

"I love the style of the hotel and the beautiful grounds. Very comfortable bedrooms and ideal for people who want to explore London. Tube stations at easy reach. I would of liked a rough estimate price on evening meals when booking on-line. Instead of it stateing meals are expensive. Even thou we lost at Wembley we still enjoyed our stay and i would recomend to my friends." (99889295)

"Welcoming staff, beautiful grounds, a fantastic retreat. West Lodge Park is perfect for a romantic weekend, it’s within travelling distance to central London. The breakfast buffet was excellent. I cannot find fault with this hotel, it was all worth every penny. I would visit West Lodge Park again soon, I highly recommend this." (99403297)
Plenty of activities to keep you entertained. Hotel staff were very friendly, and the surrounding views of the grounds were breath-taking.
It was no smoking, but it really didn't matter after all.

"An enjoyable stay with good food, polite attentive staff who were always on hand. The room was a clean, spacious private area with a good sized bathroom although the bed could have been larger. The gardens were well kept and gave the hotel a very good 1st impression on arrival and were enjoyable to explore. The only slight down side was no on site leisure facilities but the hotel provide a taxi sevice to an outside site free of charge, although there was a spa on site this was out of order during our stay." (99291918)
Clean spacious room in a lodge away from the main hotel which gave a good degree of privacy. Excellant well kept gardens

"Apart from the fact that the room had not been cleaned for some time, we had no complaints. I did get the feeling that we perhaps were placed in that particular room, due to the hotel being full. I did wonder what the other delux rooms would be like." (99695811)
A very quiet and comfortable room with plenty of space and a lovely view of the grounds.
Unfortunately, it appeared that the room had not been cleaned, as in dusted or vacumed for quite a while. We did use some tissues to dust most of the furniture before we unpacked. We also felt that the matress had had it's day!

"Overall it was average to poor. When checking in the receptionists were more interested in talking amongst themsleves than to check us in. Never received the correct newspapers in morning. Restaurant menu difficult to choose from, and what we did eat was of a poor standard and incredibly expensive, whith no real atmoshere in restaurant. Lounge areas completely full with Christmas revellers, only good staff was the porter, who was helpful. Never any cups for tea making facilities in room." (99727176)
The location, and the gardens
Dirty bathroom, uncomfortable bed, digustingly dirty toilet brush, dirty windows, long walk in rain from annexe to hotel with useless umbrellas

The bedroom was comfortable and well appointed, with dual aspect windows giving lovely views and plenty of light.
The bathroom was badly in need of an overhaul - paint was peeling off the ceiling, the top of the cold tap on the wash basin was absent, there was no extractor fan and, worst of all, the shower head had a constant drip which landed on your head if you chose to take a bath.

"It is a lovely hotel in beautiful grounds. The service and friendliness of the management and staff was excellent. Despite the excessively hot weather we were able to enjoy a pleasant walk around the arboretum. It may be more expensive but it is different, unlike so many hotels today, which are very similar" (3305035867)
Lovely room and beautiful grounds of 34 acres.
Nothing although it did get very hot, which was not the fault of the hotel.

"The staff don't seem to regard clients very highly - rarely a smile, more often a lackluster response. When I tried to call reception to enquire what time the disco below us would finish, they didn't answer the phone, so I had to go to reception and found two members of staff chatting. There was lots of hair in our shower tray that we had to remove and the shower didn't work very well. The diverter value on the bath had a lever missing. Not what I would call a 4 star (AA) hotel." (97898944)
The setting is good
Reception staff were not very attentive
