"The facilities were great but the other clientel in the hotel meant our stay was less romantic and more noisy!!" (108092799)

Room was clean and staff were friandly and approachable and dealt with my complaint accordingly.

The Hotel at weekends is predominantly hen and stag paties and we were put amongst them they were running up and down our corridor and kept me awake. There was no literature on the website advertising the fact that it was mostly hen n stag paties because that would have put me off.

it was full of stag and hen parties there was nowhere fit for my family as it was full of drinks We should have been advised in advance

"probably view from window as it did look quite closely into other rooms, not sure if we liked that idea, also was not asked at reception if we were staying for breakfast as we were not aware we still had to pay for this and it could have been paid all at the same time as apposed to having to deal with it before we could get entry into breakfast (a wee bit embarrasing). Breakfast was excellent !!" (97595986)

cleanliness, and size considering we had our son with us in same room

maybe we would have preferred view of river etc as apposed to office windows, but we would know next time to ask

paying for wifi or internet access. this should be free. i select hotels based on location and availability of free internet access. this is a must have in hotels and resent having to pay for it. it;s more impt than televison!

"Overall I was very pleased with my stay at Jurys (Newc). Everything was to hand in the hotel and we never had to wait for anything. the sattf were excellent and well turned out. The food was good if a little pricey at £9 for breakfast and the room apart from the heating aspect was very good. I would have liked to have known that the hotel had no on site parking, and the complete lack of directions on both the hotels website and signage on the approach to it were very much a hindrance." (97060181)

Location. Range of facilities. Good food. Good and communicative staff.

The heating in the rooms is pretty sub standard with no way of either raising or lowering the temperature. The complete lack of parking to is a major drawback.

It was convenient to the railway station.

I felt the reception staff were not as attentive as they could have been, appearred a little distracted by their own conversations.

    "Very good service" (97502206)

overall standards - it only takes one small problem to spoil a stay and there was none, which is rare everywhere! Great location for city centre nghtlife.

one thing- the design- our room was on the 1st floor and the noise from people coming in late was loud because of the enclosed courtyard. Admitted we had a window open (i smoke)but after 3.30am when i got in it was deafening as it bounced off the walls. Nobodys fault, just how its built.

"This is my second time staying at this hotel and I love it. Its location is perfect, a ten minute walk and your into the city centre to all the shops and nightlife. Also the metro is five minutes from the hotel which means no taxi fare from the airport to hotel. The staff are really friendly and the hotel is spotless. Would highly recommend to anyone no matter what the nature of your visit. Great!!" (97762353)

The location is great, just a five minute walk into the centre to all the shops and the night life. Great value for money

Only thing I disliked was that each day the card for the room needed to be 'recoded' but you didn't know this until you got to your room and the key wouldn't work.

"All in all the hotel served our purpose, we had an early start in the morning so was not able to sample breakfast." (97197870)

Simple clean and quiet. Close to our venue. We were going on the Northern Belle for dinner. So hotel was ideal for the station.

One iritating thing. In the bathroom there is a shelf above the hand basin, very usefull except when leaning over the basin to splash face with water or clean teeth, I very nearly hit my head on the shelf. It is too big or too low, not sure which but it does get in the way.

"not the best value for money - to me, like many of the larger chain hotels it lacked a bit of personality but there was nothing wrong with anything - Very few television stations and there is no excuse as a freeview box per room would cost less that £20" (97891734)

The room was large and very, very good value with 3 of us sharing. It had everything one needed and was clean. The housekeeping staff were great and brought more towels, iron and board when requested. The hotel is in a marvellously convenient position.

Very hot and we were unable to open the window more than a little. I would prefer that I was allowed to be a grown up and opt for fresh air; rather than things based on health and safety in case I was to throw myself out. We were also forced to go out to eat even though we wanted to eat in the restaurant. This was because of the unruly, drunk and loud stag parties in the foyer. We also would have liked a pre- dinner drink in the bar but couldn't bear the noise and the drunken behaviour.
