"Really liked accommodation, great location and would defo stay again if in the Newcastle area. A*." (107207916)

Our room was very spacious and clean, our view from the 2nd floor was great and the Receptionist on shift Sun 24-08-08 who finished at 3pm (sorry no name) was very friendly and welcoming.

Sorry, don't want to be picky but batteries in TV remote didn't work and could only find 1 plug socket in our room which worked.

Service was pretty good apart from one member of staff.

Hotel could do with a makeover. Not enough entertainment in hotel.

    "Very poor" (107107863)

Room decor very shabby, wallpaper scuffed all over ceiling had a smoke alarm moved and old holes still not repaired. Dinner on first night veg over cooked and what should have been a hot desert was cold and it took 2 hours from start to finish. 2nd night dinner side salad lettuce was brown and not fit to be eaten, not asked if cream was required for fruit salad.

  • 6/10 Christopher ( Solo business traveller)

"the position of the car park is not really onsite and the very ltd. spaces in front of the hotel tend to be taken by people using the leisure club who are not always residents....... However the feel of the hotel is better than the impersonal lodges and most times for less cost" (97604792)

the staff food and value for money is very good

the rooms desperately need a complete refurb.... it is such a real shame they let the overall stay down

Excellent location - close to the quayside with easy access to Newcastle. The staff were very friendly and helpful.

We were in part of the hotel that had not been renovated so the decoration was tired and the bathroom suite needed replacing. however, our daughter who stayed at the hotel for a night had a renovated room that was very pleasant.

"they need to plan where guests rooms are in relation to the different groups staying. " (108080488)

    friendly staff

dinner in the restraunt was dissapointing noise level during the night was v bad and i was kept awake between 3 and 5 am from other (probably wedding)guests, even though i was wearing ear plugs. one lift was out of order so the fire exit was deployed, this is one reason i think it was noisey as our room was overlying the fire exit stairs

"We only slept in the room as we were gone all day and early evening, otherwise the room would have been too small." (108090301)

Staff at check in desk, and resteraunt were friendly and courteous. All questions asked were answered.

Room in need of repair. Shower was not working, no volume of water. Large hole in wall of bathroom cut in wall for access to area behind toilet. Toilet leaked. Hotel was in need of a make-over, but then again it was cheap, so I guess you get what you pay for.

"I think you should be able to book fully online. I did not like the fact that you had to give your card details for a booking when you dont have to pay until you get there. We were not aware that you paid at the hotel, we thought we had already paid by booking online. this should be made more clear to customers. We would not have come to the hotel if we would have known this before we booked." (97445966)

No real complaints - hotel is slightly shabby and in need of refurb in places, however.

"Most enjoyable and we will certainly consider using the hotel again if we are visiting the area." (97249101)

The value for money and the excellent quality of the food, cleanliness and comfort of the accommodation.

We were originally booked into a room which was in dire need of redecoration. Also the walls are very thin and we had the misfortune of having a room next to a young man with obvious mental problems. This made it difficult to get to sleep as every now and again he made some loud unusual noises. The following day we were moved to another room which was of a different standard altogether and we had a much more peaceful night.

Parking was provided near the entrance - my wife is disabled. The breakfast was also good.

The whole place needed repainting. The room was adequate but on the small side.

"I really enjoyed my stay, I found it very good value for money. The staff were friendly, facilities were very good and so was the food, especially the buffet. There was no internet access though, my only fault. The nearest train station is Gateshead and not central station as per the hotel directions, only 5 min walk to train and then 5 mins to city centre, or by foot, only 20 min walk. Would without doubt recommend the hotel." (97007205)

I found the facilities very good, pool, sauna, jacuzzi.Food very good.

    There was no internet access

  • 9/10 Carol ( Family with older children)

"I asked for quiet rooms if possible, but the room I was in was directly opposite the stairs on the second floor and every time someone came through the door it slammed shut waking us during the night - a door closer is needed to stop this. Apart from that our stay was good with an excellent choice of food for breakfast and helpful staff throughout the hotel." (97462064)
