"Good stay, diappointed with room and also the products provided in the bathroom." (3305018488)
Friendly, great location
The room was old, worn and dated. Compared to other rooms in the hotel, I felt it was substandard.

"This was a great old hotel within walking distance in the town of Killarney. Service was great. It was our 30 anniversary and my husbands 60th and we were upgraded to a JR suite. Restaurant was very good. Beautiful grounds behind the hotel that could have been utilized more by the hotel. Very enjoyable and great value. Online booking efficient and replies very prompt." Wonderful oldworld atmosphere.
Lots of tour buses idling just out front of hotel.

"As we paid 298 Euro without breakfast, we felt it was a bit of a rip off. Breakfast should have been included as we had to pay 30euro per couple on each morning. Breakfast was excellent and so were the staff but I would be hesitant about spending same amount of money again just on a room only basis." (3304503614)
plenty to occupy onesself and proximity to town centre
requested smoking room and allocated non smoking but solved finally

"I would not recomend it to any of my friends. Overpriced for a Hotel in this shape." (97205736)
The Breakfast service was excellent
The whole Hotel. It was outdated, the floors creaked when walking, the was no water pressure in the shower, the walls had cracks, poor lighting in the room. it can go on and on!!

"Overall, I really enjoyed my stay." (99659648)
The bedsheets are crisp and white and the beds are very very comfortable. The old part of the hotel is very traditional with sumptious bathroom facilities. There are lovely grounds to look out over. The hotel is very smart but has a relaxed atmosphere. The bar area is also very nice to relax in and there are leisure faciities if you want them.
There was a mix up over the rooms we had booked which meant we spent half the day changing rooms. It's a small thing but I had to ask in the bar for a coffee - whereas I would have expected someone to come over to me. The new name of the hotel is all wrong, it was much better as the Great Southern, everyone we spoke to agreed. I did like the mix of old and traditional in the hotel. Last time I was there (8 years ago) it was looking a bit dated.
