    Lovely Hotel, centrally locsted & ideal for our needs. The staff were very friendly & the place just had a very nice welcoming feel to it. We have stayed in hotels in the past that were of a much higher standard but not as enjoyable . Really happy & would use Active again.Thank You

    Lovely 'old world' charm in a beautiful part of france. The staff were so friendly & helpful, even to someone with limited french speaking skills. Excellent food. I would reccomend this hotel to anyone wanting a memorable stay in Mont Dore.

    "Staff were falling over to help us, when we arrived our bags were carried upstairs for us by the manageress despite us trying to stop her. we booked a suite on the third floor which had a turret as the wardrobe and a superb walk out balcony area. The hotel has recently been taken over by new management. hopefully soon there will be a bar and restaurant which is all the hotel needs to be truly outstanding. The hotel has a garden and a decked area which would be nice to relax on with a glass of wine. If we return to Le Mont Dore this hotel will be our first choice without even checking the competition."     "An interesting and old building with suitably modernised interior. Proprietors spoke some english and we were made to feel most welcome. Excellent lounge with large screen TV and books and games/toys for children. Good quality breakfast. Excellent location right in the center of Le Mont Dore, bit worried about potential noise from the adjacent casino but no problems whatsoever. Recommend the cable car and the short wlak to the summent of Puy De Sancy. Excellent location and area for walkers, lots pf walking paths markes. Hotel also able to accomodate skiers in the ski season." (3305074853)

    No lift. we were Ok but older people and others with mobility problems would have difficulty.

    "Three of us arrived at midnight, four hours after our expected arrival time. We had to wake one of the owners to get our key but with a smile and see you ate breakfast she was gone and we were at home. Next morning we were greeted with a radiant smile and a good breakfast and first-class advice to go and see the principal tourist attraction, the highest peak in the Massif Central, because the visibility was unusually perfect that day. At the price it would be impossible to fault the quality of the room or service." (3304835575)

    "If you are in the area stay here, in fact think of a reason to go there just to stay here, once people discover this hotel they will start coming back. I had a suite, a too die for room and bed, a ensuite toilet and a separate shower in the turret, simply wonderful. I am a big man and it was amply big enough. Separate lounge to entertain, balcony, it was great, my friend had a double room, it was equally well furbished, good breakfast. Very helpful owners, nothing a problem, lots of local information and big carpark" (3304316430)

    Fantastic location, the outside is impressive but it is a facade for inside which is beautiful, really helpful owners nothing any trouble,a shower in the tower simply wonderful

    Parking Gratuit, accessibilité par la route facile, charme de l'hotel

    l'internet devrait être partout gratuit dans les chambres. La chambre était vraiment minuscule, l'écran télé comme un mirage au loin dans le ciel !

    The owners were very nice people and helped us even though our French was very poor. The hotel is in a very good position for visiting the area. First class.

    Could maybe put tea or coffee making facilities in the rooms.

    Le Grand Hotel est un hotel très sympa, situé en plein centre-ville du Mont Dore, pas loin de la Poste, du marché (qui a lieu le vendredi), du Casino, de l'Office de Tourisme, du cinéma, de la Mairie. Bref, il est très bien situé. Son cadre est très agréable et son personnel très sympathique et attentif. Le petit-déjeuner est très copieux.

    Tout était bien. Chambre propre, bonne literie, petit déjeuner très correct. Situation géographique de premier choix, en plein centre ville.

    "Da wir nur auf der Durchreise waren, war das Zimmer absolut in Ordnung. Zahlreiche Brasserien liegen nur unweit vom Hotel entfernt. So fällt es auch nicht zu sehr ins Gewicht, daß sich im Hotel keine Bar befindet" (108056433)
