"was dissapointed as the other premier inns that we have stayed in were more quieter especially near airports, so having a better nights sleep" (108041962)

noise from the traffic outside keeping us awake most of the night

"We found the hotel ideal for a short stay booked at the last minute (we were attending a family funeral). Good food at an excellent price - specially the breakfast." (108088364)

Staff very friendly and helpful. They quickly and cheerfully resolved the one bad point (see next item).

When we checked in (late afternoon)we went in and found our room was still occupied and someone else's luggage still there. As soon as we informed the staff we were given an identical room and they were very apologetic.

    "Very pleasant." (97382562)

Helpful staff; Good breakfast; Good clean room with bedding properly made up for my son on the 2nd bed/sofa.

No snacks available over the bar at night, I had to use the vending machine which was poorly labelled causing me to buy the wrong chocolate bar (curses!) and it didn't give me any change, meaning that the wrong chocolate bar cost me £1.00. It's not much money but it was a bit annoying.

  • 10/10 Nicola (Young couple)

"Excellent hotel for the money, can't fault a thing. Cleanest hotel I have stayed in to date, espcially in the London area." (97919181)

The room was spacious, quiet and immaculately clean. The staff were efficient and friendly. There was a lovely relaxed atmosphere.

    Nothing bad noted.

  • 10/10 Christopher (Family with young children)

from Immingham , GB on  April 2, 2008

"Being used to usual 4* accommation, I was reluctant to book this hotel. However it was a last resort! The staff at this venue surpassed their duties. The hotel was better than most 4* I have stayed previously. I would not hesitate to book this hotel again and have since recommended friends to this place. Fantastic stratigically if visiting Wembley Stadium and need a place just off the A1. All the employees a credit to Premier Travel Inns" (97044920)

Clean, good restaurant, bar and pleasing atmosphere.

Every Carpet all over the Uk never seems to be clean right up to the edges or under things. Parking at some of your locations can be a problem

  • 10/10 Caroline (Family with young children)

Was first stay in Premier Inn and was very impressed indeed. Very clean, comfortable and cosy. Friendly staff. Good breakfast. Good value for money.

Tiny flies on window in room - had to squash about 4! No veggie sausgaes for breakfast though was told that there would be.

Clean and with opening window to the room. Cool temperature. Near lift to ground floor. special praise to reception staff who were more than helpful with directions etc on request. Attentive restaurant staff and the offer of a paper to read was great as I was on my own. Felt safe and comfortable as a woman staying by herself. Would certainly recommend the Elstree Borhamwood hotel

There was a great deal of noise from people during the night outside under the windows. Everything else was great.

  • 8/10 Tony (Solo business traveller)

    from London , United Kingdom;GB on  January 20, 2007

"The 'Bedroom' aspect of the stay was fine - clean well appointed room, comfortable bed. The only disappointment was the restaurant: my Thai Chicken curry wasn't piping hot and the taste and ingredients were nothing to write home about. I also had to remind the waiter to bring my glass of wine several times. The combined Bar/Restaurant area gets very smoky - roll on 1st July 2007. Finally, the breakfast is good but each dish at the servery has a lid so there's lots of faffing around taking lids off, serving food, putting lids on whilst trying to not drop the plate and not burn my hands on the heat lamps. The hotel needs to sort this out ASAP because it's needlessly annoying. Other than that, for the money you really can't complain. I'll use it again." (99026195)

    Clean, Comfortable.

Smoky Bar, Restaurant Food and Service was a bit disappointing.

"I feel that this hotel would be good for long and short stays however there would need to be a change in room service arrangements which is only avaliable during weekdays and not weekend. Hotel also had a nice bar area. Will stay here again A++++++++++ :-)" (99760044)

Accommodation was very fresh and modern in it furnishings. The bathroom was very clean, staff were very pleasent and helpful and always gave a smile when they greated us.

We would have liked there to have been room service.

"Terrible shame that it was marred by secondary smoking. i would recommend the hotel only to smokers." (99909966)

    Fine

The overpowering smell of smoking as i walked into the foyer. the feint smell of smoke coming unsr the bedroom door which i tried to block off with a towel.

"Whether it was going to be noisy. However, it was OK for me. I did not know what the security was going to be like but was impressed at the level in the hotel." (3304626648)

The bed was very comfortable. I was allowed to leave my car in the car park while attending the seminar elsewhere.

The alarm facility was not available on the tv.

"The room provided basic comfort, and was adequate in most respects. It was reassuring to see that everything was extremely clean, and the room a decent size. However, the service we received once we were in the hotel was poor. The bar closed at a ridiculous hour for a Saturday night. We arrived back to the hotel after 10.30pm and as a result were left without drink or food, because room service was also unavailable." (3304613030)

It was very clean, and reasonably comfortable.

The bathroom extractor fan was annoyingly loud. Breakfast was too expensive. The bar closed just as we arrived back at 11 p.m on a Saturday night! We were told it was because there weren't enough customers. Very poor service in our opinion. Not enough basic provisions provided in room, and no room service available.

  • 6/10 Anonymous (Solo business traveller)

"The room was of superb quality, except for an air vent in the window which could not be closed - this led to a very cold night, since the heating is of poor quality. Fortunately there was a spare duvet to keep me warm. The dinner at the hotel was superb, although located near to a variety of restaurants so spoilt for choice. The breakfast however was very small and greasy." (3304397733)

Cleanliness of the room, high quality shower.

Quality of the cooked breakfast - very small portions.

  • 7/10 Nick (Mature couple)

from Brookmans park , GB on  April 6, 2008

"It was fine until I went to the car park and found my car was boxed in by someone who was parked outside of a space. Although the driver was found there was no apology and no real action from the manager until I became angry and wound him up! He was far more interested in telling me about how bad the hotel was for parking rather than giving the driver a a talking to. So I think your hotel and manager are both useless (would like to use stronger language but if I did you would be more interested in that than the poor service!!!!!- like you manager) SO your new advert should be refered to trading standards for review because it is misleading." (97626010)

Mostly good facilities as they were new

It was spacious, clean and bright. Security was good and made me feel safe as a lone female traveller. The bed was comfortable and had a duvet, high on my wish list! The staff were pleasant and efficient. There is a restaurant attached and it was good to be able to have a meal and breakfast without having to go out.

I didn't realise I could book breakfast when I booked the room, so that could have been a bit clearer
