    Very central yet quiet location.

No hot water for the duration of my stay. No air conditioning. I was in a basement room so quite dark and bulbs not working, also bare live electrical wires by bed. Staff pleasant and helpful to your face but do nothing to address the problem you may have. I mentioned 4 times in a 44 hour stay that I had no hot water.

"When we first arrived at the hotel we were shown to a room that was very basic and had not been cleanned from the previous guest (bed was not made, towels were on bathroom floor wet, Ironing board was left out). After seeing this i was very nervous about my stay thinking i had fallen for the trap of seeing a nice hotel on the internet and then the reality being something totally different. After reporting this to the front desk they moved us to a totally different room that was what i saw advertised on the website. We totally enjoyed our stay after this and the plasma tv on the wall in front of bed was excellent for relaxing after a long day." (97549114)

The Bathroom was very clean. The Location of the hotel was also very nice and quiet on a evening so able to get a good nights sleep after a long day sight seeing.

The lift was very small, old and slow. Very scary if your not a lift person.

    nice area

I accept there was a discount on the hotel tarriffs, but I booked an upgrade to an executive suite. I would have expected an up stairs room with an outlooking view.To find that the room was in the basement with no outside view was taking the mickey. Also a lack of hot or even warm water was disgusting

Excellent facilities as standard in the room, fruit, robe, slippers and bottled water as well as the usual tea, coffee and toiletries.

"It was my second stay there. The first one was much better but I am going to stay there again in 10 days" (108037476)

the hotel is clean and staff was really nice. nice thing that You have your own ironborad and iron in the room

the room they gave me there was not a/c, fan was not working and windows that i could not open. Too hot. They moved me in another room eventually. It was def. a single room when I asked for a double. No space to hang my clothes. Shower was blocked but the staff sorted it out as soon as I told them.

"I wouldn't class the hotel as a 4* more of a 2* and although we slept their and the bed was ok we will not be rushing back and would not reccomend it to others." (108007713)

Staff were helpful when asking directions

Room was not what was expected, picture on website is false, manual fan's were provided but only 1 worked, fire doors which are supposed to be closed at all times were open at all times, not what I would class as an Exec room no where near, there was also no net curtain in the bedroom so without curtain's closed people could see directly into the room and the windows were filthy.

    Location, Staff,

V-small room, nowhere to put suitcases and only place to sit was on the bed. Didnt spend much time there tho.

"Overall the hotel was nice and the staff were very helpful. I was slightly disappointed that a 4* hotel did not have air conditioning and this would have made the stay a lot more comfotable. I would return - although maybe only in the winter!" (107109202)

The staff were very friendly and helpful and corrected things professionally when mistakes were made. The location was excellent, a really nice area within good reach of everything.

There was no air conditioning and we stayed on one of the hottest nights of the year so far. Air conditioning systems had been installed but seemed to be just for show. This would have made the stay much more enjoyable. A few of the appliances in the room did not work.

"I booked this for a young couple from Holland and we chose this hotel because it said it had been reburbished and was a 4*. Their experience was not good and coloured their visit to London which was a shame." (108038706)

The bathroom had a bad smell about it.

"overall good experience would return if the 2 issues would be fixed" (108081100)

Good location close to Paddington Station, restaurants, pubs, reasonably priced and nice room decor.

Room was located in the attic (very hot), the shower was not working properly (low pressure) when we complained the staff at front desk mentioned to us that this was a known problem.

"Would never return to this hotel again even if it was offered to us free gratia." (97070216)

Our accommodation was generally clean but the rooms were very poor indeed. There was absolutely no room to move in the hotel room and we could not hang our clothes in the wardrobe as they did not fit. The safe in the wardrobe was not screwed down and the safe itself did not work and could not lock. The heat in the room was unbearable and we had to sleep with the window open. We had an air conditioner unit which was useless. Our friends were given Room 202 as our Standard rooms were not ready and we were both upgraded to Executive Rooms which were smaller than the standard rooms!!! Their room was so small that they had to climb over the bed to get to the other side. We complained and they moved them the following morning. The rooms were unacceptable and the Manageress who booked us in was blunt to a point of being rude.

    Everything.

Staff was friendly and helpful. When something was wrong, they were quick to fix the problem.

Air conditioner did not work, but there was no need for it. They had a portable fan and the weather was fine.

Very clean room and toilet/shower. Quiet room and very central location. Fruit and biscuits in the room.

flush did not work well. Very hot room, heating couldn't be switched off

"It was not clear from your web site that this method of payment was not taken, and that payment should be cash or acceptable cards (debit card is a debit card) if there is no money in the account you are informed instantly. No discression was implemented, even though I did explain that young people, not having a room to stay, may be left in a very dangereous situation." (108075828)

The booking was made online, we were not properly informed that this was confirmation only. My mother then had to travel from Bedford to London with the cash to pay for the room as her card was not excepted (visa Electron). Although, she was informed that a "no show" fee would be deduced, (very clever, as you do not accept it for payment)!! Free breakfast was offered for the inconvience caused.

"This is one of the worst hotels I have ever stayed in. No attempt was made by the front of desk staff to offer any compensation etc. I filled out a formal complaint and feedback card so I hope it was presented to the manager. This is definitely NOT a four star hotel. " (97859166)

Front of house looked modern and clean. The Polish bellhop was pleasant and I am pleased the Polish staff understood what a dump I had booked into. Not the Asian staff - they acted hurt and surprised and offered to waive my charge of a cappucino which was offensive.

This was one of the worst hotels I had ever stayed at. The standard room is not worthy of a one star hotel, let alone a 4 star hotel This constitutes false advertising and I would be happy to report the hotel to a consumer affairs bureau. The walls of the room were musty and damp had seeped in. The wallpaper was badly stained and peeling off. The staff were instructed to spray air freshener in the corridor leading to the room after I complained of the damp odour. The Bathroom was appalling. It was tiny, narrow and the ceiling was coming off over the shower. There was no ventilation and we had no hot water during the day. The sheets on the bed were torn and stained and very old. The furniture and carpet were in poor condition. For 99GBP this was very poor value. The room was also on a simple lock and there was no security.

"hotel - bad foo fighters at wembly - awesome!" (97899928)

they booked a taxi pretty quickly. there was a 1960's iron to use.

there were ants in the room, badly stained carpets, the lights didnt work in the night, there was no hairdryer, the bed was awfull(but clean), there was no hot water in the morning, some power points didnt work, the shower and toilet was like a phonebox, squeaky uneven floorboards, poor decor, dodgy looking oil filled electric heater with no wheels(fortunatly it was warm so didnt get to try it out).

"It was a pleasant comfortable room that served its purpose as a room to stay that night. Nothing really exceptional or value for money though" (97641671)

venue was well maintained and presented

We were told we had been upgraded to deluxe but the room was quite small, not sure what was deluxe about it. Think this was said to soften the blow we were staying in the basement. Breakfast was not included in the price and was an additional £15 each. We could have paid £10 each on the day to recieve this but that still seemed costly. Not sure what breakfast was but think they could include continental breakfast in the price.

"The staff were pleasant, and a great location. However, the room was disappointing and not value for money. The bathroom was small and storage space was minimal to say the least." (99782929)

    The location.

I thought the room was quite poor value for money, the bathroom was the smallest i've ever seen. Musty smell in corridor.

"The hotel was decorated very well but the room size was very small (I believe other rooms were larger). The bathroom was very nice. It would be nice to know what the taxi fair from Paddington Station was going to be(about 4 pounds)." (99918009)

The decor was quite nice. The location was close to Paddington Station and within walking distance of Hyde Park, local shops and restaurants, and an underground station.

The room was tiny. There wasn't a breakfast included. I was disturbed by the multiple people I witnessed complaining in the lobby.
