We couldn't figure out how to work the shower!

"The hotel was well located for business travellers being close to the airport yet close to, and on a main route into, central edinburgh. Would also be suitable for families with the additional bed and proximity to the zoo." (97614007)

large comfortable room, quiet location (if you can ignore the cockatoos in the zoo immediately behind the hotel) good bed.

"Enjoyed our stay. Only let down was a poor nights rest due to room being far to hot due to inafective air conditioning system." (97600381)

Proximity to Edinburgh Zoo and not far from the city centre. Great Breakfasts in the morning.

Our only complaint was the Air conditioning in our family room was rubbish, it did not work properly. The temperature in our room was 81 and above for most of the night evn with the fan on constantly set to cool to 45.

Unfortunately, due to the xmas season there was no availability for guests to eat within the hotel.

the hotel was close to our local event as well as being near the city centre

The room was getting a bit tired, there were tiles in the bathroom floor broken and the carpet was a bit sad.

  • 7/10 Anonymous ( Solo business traveller)

The restaurant facilities and reception area were nice and welcoming

The room was very cold I had to transfer to a different room because of this and the first room was not clean. The second room was ok but the room decor is a bit tired, ie sofa and floor were stained.

"Family room is great for family with small children. Kids eat free if you're staying there too! Added bonus! You cannot book this online, because you need to speak with someone to get a special request in for 2 children staying. Online booking only gives you the option of 2 adults one child. Active Hotels very helpful and friendly. All staff (except one we came across) seemed to display the can-do attitude advertised! Excellent customer care" (3304978632)

Swimming pool, small play area for children in cafe area

No dislikes, but carpet in room was very stained and curtains worse for wear

I have stayed at this hotel in many occasions, it is presentable and acceptable

my room had been an e-smoking room and there was a smel of stale smoke in the rool

  • 7/10 Neil ( Family with young children)

    from Aberdeen , United Kingdom;GB  on  June 28, 2006

"The staff were freindly enough and gave very good service. prices for drink and food were very high in my opinion. for example, £5.95 for 1 glass of white wine." (3304891822)

The hotel was excellent as a base for visiting places.

We had to pay extortionate prices in the hotel bar, I really do not think that a hotel chain the size of them have to charge so much for food and drink.

(3304536984)

Accomodation was fine, neat tidy and clean.Room bright and airy.

Could have dome with a few more toileteries please, maybe some extrat shampoos etc?

"We travelled with a baby and 5 year old. Air conditioning wasn't working and we were given a fan, which did not help very much. Room was very hot so we didn't sleep well. We were not provided with a cot either (after I rang the hotel the day before we travelled and checked a cot would be available). Had to put 11 month old baby in a bed which was not ideal." (3304549330)

Location. As we were visiting the zoo we didn't need to get back in the car.

Room was very hot and air conditioning was not working.

"Would recommend this hotel to anyone, is on a bit of a hill so not recommended if you have walking difficulties. Would definitely stay here again. Playstation available in the room. Fantastic!!! Well done Holiday Inn Corstorphine." (3304776277)

The hotel was very clean and staff were very helpful and friendly. Rooms were of a very high standard. Overall very pleased with hotel and our stay there.Gym and swimming facilities were good.Bus stop directly outside the from door. £1 each on the bus got us into Edinburgh centre and back again.

Parking was a bit of a struggle but not too much of a problem. Breakfast was not included which we did not realise and was quite expensive at £13.00 each but cannot comment as we did not make breakfast anyway!!

The room was spacious and clean and reasonably priced however I found although the bar and restaurant had great variety and excellent quality the prices were higher than I would normally expect to pay for a family holiday. Overall. I would return without doubt and highly recommend this hotel." (3304607275)

The room was, as ever with Holiday Inn, spacious, bright with good facilities. The new Sampans oriental restaurant was really enjoyable, with good food and good service, if a bit pricey. Overall, a very nice, pleasant stay at a good hotel." (3304515268)
