"We were going to a concert at Birmingham Symphony Hall so this hotel was just the ticket, being so close, so inexpensive and not needing much luggage/wardrobe space. The shower in the wetroom was luxurious. Could have stayed in there for ages!!" (97677037)

Very clean room, clever interior design to make the most of the (limited) available space. Great, friendly service at reception. Good price for such a central location.

Room was very small with no window but cabin design did much to compensate. Ok for one night but if We'd stayed much longer we may have ended up with cabin fever!

"Overall it was a lovely apartment." (97473211)

    Clean, Well equipped Centrally located.

Felt it needed curtains in the lounge as it doubles as a bed room. My daughter found it to light in the morning.

Good location, easy check in process and comfy bed

The television was far to big and caused eye ache when being watched. Also I could not seem to turn it off totally, only put it on Standby. Not only does this waste energy, it also made a noise which annoyed me

Was as described on the tin.

Lack of storage for clothes and bits and pieces

  • 7/10 Tom (Young couple)

from Northampton , GB on  November 28, 2007

    Modern, clean, very functional.

Very claustrophobic, lack of privacy within room, very hot and stuffy (air conditioner under bed and you could barely feel the difference on the bed), a couple of buttons were unclear as to what they did.

"Room was extremely small, nowhere to put your clothes other than a hanger on the wall. The lack of window really was a big negative and made me realise how claustrophobic I must be. I couldn't sleep, and couldn't wait to get out. Sorry because the staff were very good and facilities were good." (97272358)

Nice modern hotel, vending machines at intervals on corridors, good shower, very quiet. Good central location.

No window, so was very claustrophobic. I don't think this was mentioned on the website and it should be, because some people are claustrophobic and would not be able to stand it.

"It was a really suprising hotel, well worth another visit. Can't wait for them to open elsewhere" (97891516)

The room was very comfortable, great sleep because of the no window room, staff were very kind and helpful

The hot breakfast selection was not great.

"our overal stay was quite good the only things we were a bit disapointed about was the size of the room for 2 adults staying in there it just wasn't enough room to move about plus having luggage it made it even more of a problem. also we were very disappointed with the breakfast to pay £5.95 for a english breakfast to find that you only end up getting bacon and susage was a bit of a shock we were expecting eggs and other things you usually get with an english breakfast" (97045033)

    the big televison

the size of the room was not big enough for 2 people to get around

"V pleasant and cheap stay for the city centre" (97056777)

nice modern apartment, although pretty small. Lovely big plasma TV, and nice shower room

We couldn't get the sound on the TV to work properly until girl from reception came up to sort it out - quick repsonse though!

"Stayed for four nights and it was too much. Love the concept for a one night stay at the price but it becomes annoying after a couple of days. My wife was with me for a couple of nights and I think we would have fallen out if it were any longer, there is not the room for two people to get ready at the same time." (97477712)

    Clean, modern

    Size and lack of window,

  • 10/10 Joyce (Solo leisure traveller)

from Birkenhead , GB on  March 4, 2008

"The website gave me all the information that I needed before I made my decison to book. The rooms are advertised as small and they are, but for an overnight stay, even two nights, they are more than adequate and excellent value. Staff very friendly and helpful with fast, efficient check-in. In fact the service received was up to American standards." (97622440)

The bathroom was absolutely beautiful and spotlessly clean. I have stayed in more expensive hotels that did not have this standard of fittings, or indeed cleanliness The bed was very comfortable.

    Nothing

"In a hotel room I looke for a comfortable bed, good shower and cleanliness - this room provided the highest quality in all three areas. I do think though that it would be too small a space for an extended hotel stay - one or two days is OK though." (97438923)

Although compact, the space was used very creatively.

The TV channels could not be set to proper widescreen reception.

"Friendly reception staff No noise from other customers didnt use any facilities as just a bed for the night location not bad, quite close to nia where we were going price - perhaps would pay more for a bigger room and would travel lodge have been cheaper?" (97083165)

    It was clean and comfortable

although the room was described as compact I wasn't expecting that compact! My husband and I are not that slim and we laughed that we might not both get in!

"I would recommend this hotel as clean and reasonably priced but not to anyone over 6ft tall." (97860988)

The room was clean and of adequate size and reasonably priced.

The bed was too short for my height and I was informed that all the beds were the same size so there was no opportunity to swop to a longer one. Also, there was nowhere for me to put working papers out in the room and I had to make do with the bed as a table.

"This hotel is a great option for a night out in Birmingham when you literally want somewhere to lay your head - rooms are tiny but fine if you are only sleeping there and a much better alternative to the normal budget accommodation in the city centre" (97256312)

    Modern and comfortable

    Incredibly compact room

  • 9/10 Anonymous (Mature couple)

  • 9/10 Ian (Solo business traveller)

from Hampton , GB on  October 14, 2007

"Although the room was very small, it was fine for my purposes as I spent very little time in it. I was attending a conference, and all I really needed was a place to shower and sleep, and nitenite provided an excellent shower and a very comfortable bed. There was no window, which would have been more of an issue had I been staying there longer or had I had to spend more time in my room. The staff were friendly and helpful, and all in all the hotel met my needs very well." (97323915)

The room was clean and compact, with a great shower, a comfortable bed, and a large TV.

I didn't like not having a window, although this did not matter much as I spent very little time in the hotel anyway.

  • 5/10 Raz (Group of work colleagues)

  • 8/10 Paul (Mature couple)

from Rugby , GB on  October 4, 2007

"My wife and I found the hotel to be central and convenient to the railway station, theatres a restaurants The hotel was clean and the staff friendly and the room was reasonably quite during the evening given its city central location This hotel's bedrooms I found to be very compact with only two coat hsngers for clothes and other than the bed, there was only a tiny stool to sit on. This hotel is perfect for a one night stay." (99857023)

Clean & Value for Money / City Centre location

Room a little too compact/suitable for an over night stay only Bathroom doors do not close (magnetic catches inefficient)

  • 8/10 James (Solo business traveller)

"So very small but extremely clean and comfortable. I was surprised. TV operation unclear on pay-per-view but other stations fine. Excellent shower. Used to conventional hotel so will probably not stay again but worthwhile this time." (97695570)

The lack of window/natural light maybe felt a little bit claustrophobic.

  • 6/10 Trevor (Solo business traveller)

"Tried the 'pod' room out of interest. Nothing wrong with the accomodation as long as you know what to expect, but will probably pay more for a traditional room next time." (99816315)

    Clean modern design. Excellent shower.

TV not working properly - and given the lack of a window or comfortable chair there is nothing else to do in the room but lie on the bed and watch it.

    air condition did not work

"Small rooms. Okay for one or two nights stay. Quirky and good design. Just far too hot- air con seemed to be broken. Perhaps better for Winter and not Summer stays!!" (99558039)

Quirkiness. Design of room. Wet room/shower room

The fact it was like a sauna and the air conditioning didn't seem to work- even though it sounded on. The room was stifling which made relaxing and sleeping difficult.

  • 10/10 Chris (Group of adult friends)

the wetroom or bathroom as most people call it was very comfortable for space and easy to use

THE LOCATION OF THE HOTEL WAS GOOD, AND THE PLASMA TV SCREEN WAS VERY ENJOYABLE TO WATCH!

VERY SMALL ROOM. IDEAL IF YOU ARE STAYING FOR 1 OR 2 NIGHTS, ANYMORE AND IT WILL BECOME VERY UNCOMFERTABLE. PARKING WAS PERSONALLY A NIGHTMARE FOR ME.

  • 8/10 Anonymous (Solo leisure traveller)

    on  May 16, 2007

"Having a TV instead of a window is an interesting idea, but a 42 plasma screen heats the room to a level where it is almost impossible to get to sleep. It would have helped to know that there was no soap in the room" (99355051)

    Cleanliness, originality

Also, there was no overflow in the basin and the plug was difficult to fit into the hole, and even harder to remove

  • 9/10 Marion (Solo business traveller)

"No frills but clean and relatively inexpensive, although breakfast not particulalrly good value for money. Staff very pleasant and room nicely serviced." (99367643)

Clean, well serviced accommodation with the fundamental requirements satisfactorily catered for.

Room a tad on the small side. Could imagine it would be uncomfortable for people suffering even the smallest degree of claustraphobia. No fresh air (windowless) and the consequent noise of the air-conditioning can be distracting.

  • 8/10 Jessica (Same sex couple)

    from Swansea , UNITED KINGDOM;GB on  May 12, 2007

Modern, clean, friendly service, value for money, large flat screen in the room!, selection of lighting moods.

Was a little shocked at the size, I knew it would be small but not that small. I felt clostraphobic at times. The shower meant that the whole floor in the bathroom got wet. Also when needed the toilet in the night it woke my friend up since the bathroom door showd the light through. Also was dissapointed with the selection of the breakfast for the price, so went elsewhere.
