"Having stayed at Travelodge in a room for 3 adults, Premier Inn are at it if they claim health and safety regulations mean that 3 adults cannot share a room in their hotels. And then charge extra for the privilege of rectifying their mistake." (108059665)

staff were friendly and helpful; additional breakfast was excellent

Room was booked as a 3 person - on arrival we were told this was only possible for 2 adults plus a child. This was not evident in the booking small print. We were allocated 2 new rooms, but charged for the full Premier Inn rate, rather than the Active Hotels website rate. Not good. Also air conditioning was not working in the hotel, and although the temperature in the room was bearable, there was no offer of a rate reduction.

"Due to the air Con problems the hotel experience was very uncumfortable. If the air con is repaired I would stay at the hotel because of the location to my office." (107107809)

The Hotel's location is close to my office.

No air conditioning and the Thursday evening had an increased tariff charge. After three uncomfotable nights the hotel had the audasity to increase the tariff.

"Completely spoiled by airconditioning not working for reasons expleined above" (107214988)

    Friendly, helpful staff

Air conditioning not working whilst weather very muggy and as hotel is on flightpath to Heathrow aircraft noise much interrupted our sleep due to window having to be open because of aircon issue.

"Pleasant stay, would stay there agin, but need to sort out air conditioning in rooms. More car parking spaces needed" (107119299)

Good efficient check in ptocess and explanation of facilities and food options. Clean room. Called taxi for us. Efficient check out process

Not enough onsite parking available. Room was extremely hot, too uncomfortable to sleep well. Check in person not aware 2 people were staying in room even though stated this on booking application

"Very disappointed. The staff there did not appear to be polite and were not willing to offer help. I am not sure whether they really care about the feeling and the safety of their guests. Before we booked the hotel, we saw from its website that its rooms have air-conditioning. But when we arrived, we found out from a small notice on the wall of our room that the air-conditioning was out-of-service. When we asked for help, they could simply provide us with fans. They have standard answers like "that is all that we can do?, ?if you don?t like, you can move to another hotel?. The room was like a steamer. Every night, I have to stay awake to dry the back and the necks of my husband, my son and my nephew. Every night with the hotel was un-enjoyable. Some of the staff explained that it was due to a fire which broke out a month ago, but another staff said that the fire broke out two months ago. They explained very ?brilliantly? that it was for security reason that they could not turn on the air-conditioning just for our room ?.. Some staff claimed that they have ordered some portable air-conditioners but the suppliers did not keep their words and did not deliver the air conditioners on time. I did not know which of the ?facts? they told us are true. But they all sound ridiculous and irresponsible. I could not understand how come it took such a long time to fix the problem. We questioned why they did not inform us of the problem in advance such that we could have looked for another hotel before we came to England. The answer we got was 'since we have more than one thousand bookings, it is not possible to inform each of the customers?. I believe they owed their customers the obligation to inform them of the problem. Another things that also reflect the mentality of the people there was the elevator connecting the car park to the reception floor. We took the elevator up to the reception floor but was not able to open the door. We pressed the alarm for more than 10 minutes but no body came to help us. After 10 minutes, other guests just happen to pass-by and saved us. On the last day of our stay, while we were staying at the lobby waiting for our taxi, we saw the same ?accident? happened to another guest. I doubt whether any person has looked into the matter!!" (97156598)

easy access and the bedroom is big

The air-conditioners are not working (despite they claimed on their webpage that their rooms were air-conditioned). The staff there did not appear to be polite and were not willing to offer help. Not sure whether they really care about the feeling and the safety of their guests.

"Very good value for money. I stayed at a chain hotel of a different group the previous two nights for the same money. This hotel was much better." (108095084)

Excellent staff service and always very pleasant: good sized room which was very clean. Very good value for money meal evening meal. Good range of in room services. Well serviced.

The only two negative points were that the air conditioning was not working during our stay and the floor boards outside the room creaked.

"A reasonable place to stay if they have a record of your booking and the room airconditioning is working" (97573213)

Hotel was convenient for access to Heathrow and our relatives. Also good location for public transport. Friendly and helpfull staff. The room we were allocated was quite spacious by London standards.

No record of our booking (through Active Hotels) on our arrival. Although heavily booked the manager allowed us to check in early from our overnight flight and allocated us the first available room.(very good point). The airconditioning in the room was not working (there was a notice on the wall to this effect). Our visit coincided with a hot spell in London which made conditions for sleeping uncomfortable. The fans which the hotel provided in lieu were next to useless.

"Helpful staff, standard room, spoiled by lack of cooling (or quiet)." (108058429)

Lucky to get last in-house parking despite arriving late.

Airconditioning was not working and the room was under the roof on the afternoon side so it was really hot when we arrived. The windows were shut so we had to open the window to let in any air and the noise of the traffic. We were given a (small) extra fan but that did not help much.

"Stay was fine...breakfast was good and was all in all good value for money...Our only gripe was that the taxi company the hotel use tried to charged us £12 to travel 2 miles yes 2...TWO....in the end they settled on £7 which we felt was still extortionate considering the driver did not speak English and needed us to spell the address so he could put it into a sat-nav to find it." (97898206)

    Clean, bright and quite.......good shower

The location of the hotel was excellent, good links to public transport and easy to find off the motorway

Very few parking spaces for the hotel - I ended up having to pay. The check-in staff were very slow

Poor service when ordering a cab. Don't believe hotel staff member phoned initially

  • 5/10 Martina ( Group of adult friends)

"I would have preferred to get detailed information on how to get to the hotel. This was not provided online and it was hard to know where to walk from the station." (97218992)

    cleanliness, style, location

the matresses were very bad and caused a bad backpain of my friend and we would have asked to get back our money had we known that this policy exists. Staff was very slow and it one hour to check in although I was in a great hurry to go to work. The key card (to enter the room) repeatedly did not work and we had to go downstairs from the 4th floor twice until it opened the door. We had booked a twin room but were provided with a double bed.
