"Adequate accommodation, but v poor service in restaurant on first night. Wifi reception in room is sporadic at best...kept losing connection. At an additional cost of £10 per day, it was not satisfactory." (97486313)

Clean, comfortable (although a little dated).

Corner shower was very small, dooors awkward to close, and low water pressure

"Only negative is the car parking - awful - truely awful, space so narrow had to climb out hatchback to exit. Otherwise its a typical grand, if slightly worn, old-style English seaside hotel. Rooms nice and clean, decent size, shower nice and hot, Food excellent, Service mostly very good with a few amusing Fawlty Towers moments. Bar area could do with a refurb, very dull and uninteresting place to be. Function Room is really good and event was well handled. Location is good" (97767745)

Nice size room, Food was excellent, Everything was clean

Nice Sea View but windows needed a clean , Car Parking

"We enjoyed our stay here & would return but probably without a car" (97279923)

The closeness to the seafront & the town centre, the breakfast & friendly staff.

The car park was very difficult to enter, park & depart.

"I would like to have known that the parking was so difficult. i would have liked the room to be quiter and cooler. Maybe I could have been warned about the noise in the seaview rooms in advance(the hotel did phone me to confirm the type of room), i accepted a seaview as i thought it might be better!" (97594132)

location, I needed a hotel in Weymouth. booking on the web was easy, i am a gold crown member.

room was very noisy. mostly due to noise from smokers gathering outside the window. the hotel was much too hot. parking was poor/unavailable

"It says on the website that there is free parking, what this means in reality is that there is a very narrow car park with space for 10 cars and otherwise you have to find your own space which in the summer months would be impossible nearby. In three days we never saw a space in the car park. The hotel is also on a busy main road and has single glazed sash windows which makes the rooms very noisy. I was unable to sleep with the windows open - again in the summer it would be uncomfortably hot." (99585398)

I was unable to sleep in the ground floor room as the road outside was so noisy, we changed it to a 3rd floor room after this which was slightly quieter.

    Big room

wedding party noise. Disco until 1am with music throbbing through the hotel. Would not have stayed here if a wedding was planned and I had been notified when booking

    "Enjoyed it." (107138172)

Brilliant support from a member of the hotel bar staff who kept a friendly eye on my mum when I left her one evening, while I popped out for a couple of hours. Thank you very much.

Using the same towels for whole stay. Somehow during the booking process a letter in the postal code was misheard so a mistake was made about which was our home town.( I used the internet to find out information then I phoned.)

"reception and restaurant staff very friendly. description about the onsite parking. Only parking for 10 cars on site. Street parking very limited to 8pm to 8 am. Other parking were in public pay and display car park between 5 and 10 minute walk away at a cost of £9 per 24 hour period. These parking costs should be discounted from the overall costs..." Lack of parking, could do with a modern lift.

"i would of liked to of been in formed when i booked that you had a sister hotel next door to the one we stayed in and that parking was also permitted in this hotel as well." (97367802)

very spacious rooms and exceptionally clean.

i couldn, t find a remote control in the room, and at breakfast we had to ask for coffee, instead of being approached by the staff.

"It is so nice to be looked after by courteous and competent staff who helped us dilligentley even when a mistake was ours; if only shoppng was so pleasant!" (97724873)

Sumptious but warm and welcoming, more than I can say about a recent stay at another equaly star rated hotel!

Not being able to stay longer due to work commitments.

"Overall the hotel was good, with friendly staff, an enjoyable time was had." (97297436)

We really enjoyed the breakfast and loved the building.

Parking was a nightmare as we arrived late. It was a bit of a maze with loads of doors upstairs. The pillows could have been fuller.

"would not recomend to other young adults" (99547254)

The view was good and the bed very comfortable. The food was also good and room service was very flexible.

I booked this stay for my Daughter and her boyfriend, they are both young but very responsible. They did however feel that some staff treated them differently to other guests, some of the staff were not very freindly towards them. please remind your staff that not all young adults are yobs and their money is as good as anyone's. due to their attitudes they did not feel welcome at the Hotel so spent most of their time out and only used the restaurant for one breakfast.

  • 7/10 Paul ( Solo business traveller)

from Gloucester , GB  on  November 6, 2007

"Excellent position on the seafront, and within walking distance of the harbour and town. Breakfast buffet was fine. Fixed price menu appeared good value, until it was noticed that the most interesting items had supplements which could increase the bill by £8. Excellent quality Chinese restaurant opposite. Satisfactory stay, but not the best value I've found in a seaside town out of season." (97792194)

Spacious room for a single, good bathroom overall

Had to walk through a cramped dining room to access. Hot, and heating difficult to regulate.
