The hotel told us on arrival that no booking existed and that the booking agency were always doing this .Therefore we definitely would not use your services again. Perhaps you regard this as standard practice. Yours Chris nye

"I think we were given a staff room as it had two separated bunk beds and a torn shower curtain half hanging off and NO HOT WATER. No tea or coffee facilities, no wardrobe or chest of drawers. My partner is 6' 7' and the bed had an end rail. I always book rooms with divan beds deliberately." (97255012)
The booked room was for single despite my paper work showing i'd booked a standard double room and was also told we had to pay more.

there were no good points, except chocolate cake for breakfast which was novel. i have taken photographs of the room which I will be sending to British Trading standards and was ashamed to think that foreign visitors staying at the hotel would think that this was 'the norm' for British accommodation
hygiene and cleanliness can not be sacrificed in the name of 'budget accommodation'

"Very basic. More a hostel than hotel." (108031529)
Close to coach station. Bedding was clean.
Room was too small for number of beds crammed in, no wardrobe. Ensuite was a broomcupboard - literally! No , actually broom cupboards are bigger. The cleanliness of the room was somewhat dubious although the bathcupboard was clean. Only one plug socket in the room worked. The window kept falling down - would have been dangerous if you were looking out at the time.

"Fine, will stay again, price was good and close to tube etc." (108076433)
room clean, tidy, sufficent. Breakfast was fine, nice to have B&B and able to sit down and eat without a host pestering you about what you're doing today
Cold shower

"Just what we wanted, somewhere cheap and cheerful." (97764007)
Good location and value for money - run down but as expected given the price. Staff were friendly.
We booked 3 rooms online but only got 2 on arrival - not great for 6 adult males.

"On arrival, we were asked to pay by cash, as the 'machine was playing up'. When I paid by credit card, not having that sort of cash, they tried to charge £4 more, (which I refused to pay), and funnily enough, the card machine worked absolutely fine. A very unpleasant check-in experience, but I advise anyone to stand their ground if deciding to stay here, if you don't have cash - do not pay any extra for paying by credit card. My colleague heard guests arriving during the night, who were told they needed to pay by cash as the card machine was not working. A tax dodge maybe?! I had booked a twin room, but we were given a small room with a double bed and a rickety camp bed - obviously a family room, not a twin. I have been in bigger bathrooms in a caravan - ridiculously small, and put us off attempting to use the shower. There was no bedside table to put anything on and no bedside lamp. There was a tiny cabinet with two drawers for clothes storage - not a wardrobe or even a coat hook to hang anything. On the plus side, the bedding was clean and the loo/sink was clean. As we only needed the room to more or less sleep in, it was just about adequate for our purpose. Breakfast was very basic, but ok. Be warned, the reality of this place does not match the photos/description on the website! " (97160965)
The location of the hotel was in a good location for where we needed to be for our conference. Breakfast was adequate.
Check-in - trying to rip people off by asking for cash, and adding an amount on for payment by credit card. A twin room was booked for 2 adults - were given a room with a double bed and a rickety, lumpy camp bed. Room/bathroom too small. (ALmost impossible to use the loo or sink with the door closed). Mirror in inconvenient place - had to clamber on the bed to use it. No wardrobe or even a coat hook to hang work clothes. No bedside table or lamp.
