"I paid £60 to stay in central London. It was a measure of the poor quality of the hotel that I felt I had overpaid." (97465636)

Downstairs had been renovated; the location was good.

No hot water; a device to poison mice or rats left under the sink; plywood furniture; the bed was a mattress on some wood blocks; really shoddy decoration - doors and rooms only half-painted.

    very easy going staff, clean

painting when we arrived-not properly signed and I got paint all over my luggage. Very basic, shower was not a proper cubicle-got water all over the toilet.

"Disappointed. Not recommendable at all." (108039672)

Breakfast was good, and the second room was ok.

Check-in and staff: Talking on the phone all the time, and seemed un-organised and un-professional in general (I'll get back to that). Rooms: Had 2 rooms over the 3 days we were there. The first one ("The suite", they called it) had some water-damage at the floor outside the bathroom, which was flooded the next morning, with some fungus comming from the pipes as well (general waterpipe damage, I think). The second room was ok, although the "public bath" was pretty horrible as well. More on staff: As we found out we wanted to leave a day earlier, we asked to get a refund of that night, since we wouldn't be staying. This was poorly handled, and they didn't even know what credit-card information they should ask for, to refund some of the money.

"For a short overnight stop traveling with train from St Pancras it was very convenient. There wasn't much other than the train station in the neighborhood though. The (single) room was very small but the bed good. For a longer stay I would consider somewhere with a bit more comfort." (108068433)

The hotel is situated in a very convenient location for travels to/from St. Pancras station (just a few minutes walk), on a quiet street.

There was no hot water in the shared shower when i tried it. The welcome was a bit frosty, but not unfriendly. The breakfast room is a room in the cellar, cramped when there are more than four people in the room.

"I would be happy to pay £5 extra for a much better experience." (99374075)

Proximity to event and transport links.

Poor communication of staff (no offers of basic information). Noise of fire doors slamming (ill-fitting doors). Limited choice of breakfast: no decaf options, brown bread, semi-skimmed milk. Inadequate supply of toilet rolls at times and of clean fresh towels. Stains in room. Sink not bleached. Weak and intermittent wi-fi connection.

"No complaints about the location, facility was adequate for the night - any longer I would have preferred a private shower. Overall fair price for a good location and basic facilities." (108085949)

Good location - quiet house, comfortable bed. Good to see a fridge in the room and a fan. Plenty of storage for a short stay. With a little bit extra input I would have considered it to be pretty good.

Little noisy in the morning being next to the shower room. Door latch did not feel too secure. TV aerial did not function well. Desk area could do with some protection from water spills - a bit grimy looking. Shower room - did not feel too secure / private - people using plastic bags on floor (to protect their feet I presume) so I did not use it - washed in my room instead.

"Poor, bad attitude of staff" (97619678)

When I called the night before to pay for my partners stay they said it was not possible to do over the phone!!! When he then arrived they said they wouldn't accept a card as the machine was broken and wouldn't let him stay until he paid cash for the stay.

    "No good" (108043225)

It was available at short-notice when I needed accomodation. It was also close to the railway/tube station

It was adeqhate, but I suppose, compared to the cost of other hotels, was fair for the money

"Would never stay there again." (108024655)

    The staff were pleasant

The room was a mess, with old towels strune around. The bed was not made and the sheets were dirty. The "furniture" was of a very poor standard and the window didn't close. I felt so uncomfortable and unsafe in the room that I left the same night and got the late train home as it was such an unpleasant experience.
