"We booked this hotel at the last minute having decided to visit Europa Park in nearby Rust (4 km). The Heckenrose is a lovely hotel, very clean and with a cosy traditional feel. The staff are extreemly helpful and speak excellent English. We had a top floor quadruple room, with a double and two single beds which suited us very well. The village around is small and quite, and the hotel is in a good central location, although we used the resturants in nearby Herboltzheim. The breakfast was a real treat, served in the resturant, a very pretty room. We will certainly return to this hotel. A very pleasant surprise." (99621524)

"I would never go back. So far it has been one of the worst experiences ... food was terrible, room was dirty ... they tried to charge us a different price per night than we booked through activehotels.com. " (108082427)

"Das Hotellzimmer war ruhig und sehr ordentlich. Zudem war es für diese Preisklasse sehr stielvoll eingerichtet. Negativpunkte sind der fehlende Haartrockner auf den Zimmern und die allzufrühe auscheckzeit von 1030 h. Das Hotel ist aber alles in allem sehr empfehlenswert." (99470228)

"angenehmes Hotel, gut gelegen an der Autobahn und am Europapark. Die Bedienung beim Abendessen war etwas unaufmerksam. Zum Frühstück fehlte uns etwas Süßes, wie z. B. Sandkuchen" (99835666)

"Excellent hotel et cuisine allemande un peu lourde mais tellement bonne!les fameux spatzle à la crème!. Bon conseil pour acheter les billets d'entrée du parc et racourci pour éviter les bouchons de la sortie d'autoroute et se rendre au parc." (99426528)

"We were very pleased with the friendly and quick check-in. It was nice after a tiring day. The room was a good size and the breakfast was quite good too. The online booking was very efficient - the only problem was that we worried when we received an automatic response rather than an email from a real person that the booking wasn't made, but it was and everything worked out perfectly." We like the friendly and quick check-in.
Very little to dislike - perhaps the carpets and sheet etc could be a bit newer.
