    "Thanks to the owner Paul we had a very enjoyable stay even if it was for one night, we were made at ease right from the first moment we met Paul. He took our bags to the room and showed us where everything was and then left us to settle in. Afternoon tea was served to us when we went into the lounge area(this was a very nice touch)As Before the accomodation was immaculate and the Breakfast in the morning was also 1st class." (97335443)

    The accomadation was 1st class, the room and en-suite were immaculate, the bed was actually quite comfortable considering I have a very bad back.

    "I would recommend this hotel to anyone. In fact, I would like to live there! The owners were extremely welcoming and made me feel very special. The hotel is excellent for lone travellers as it is a family run business with just enough rooms to feel 'safe' but not enough to feel lost. There are several pubs reasonably nearby which provide good food, but dinner is available for guests at the hotel. The finishing touches in the rooms raised the level of accomodation to a higher level than expected. A really enjoyable stay in a very beautiful hotel. It is on my list for another visit."     It was excellent-we were greeted on arrival and nothing was too much trouble. The whole hotel was clean, beautifully presented and very friendly.

    There was nothing to dislike about the accommodation. Our room was spacious, comfortable and clean with lovely thoughtful touches. The Hotel generally was extremely comfortable with an interesting layout - it was like staying in someone's home.

    old hotel, not large and impersonal

    our room was rather dark and there were no chares to sit on .although there were 8ish rooms the only other couple staying in the hotel were put in the room above us and we could hear their footsteps and many 'bathroom noises '!!

    "Attention to detail and personal service were excellent. I definitely had the feeling that the owners did things their way because they liked looking after people. The food, for example, came from a small menu of choices, but was beautifully presented and cooked. It was like dining in a good restaurant. Rooms were very clean, serviced in the morning and again in the evening when the bed was turned down. In a big corporate hotel, you would struggle to find this sort of quality without paying a lot of money. Thoroughly recommended." (99225078)

    "The hotel is a converted farmhouse with parts of the building dating back several centuries. A veranda looks over the gardens which are lovely and well kept. The rooms are thoughtfully presented with many examples of African art throughout the hotel, representing the former working life of the owners. As delightful as the hotel was, the owners themselves made all the difference and we truly felt at home." (3304986213)

    Hotel was homely and very well-decorated. Gardens were beasutiful. Parking adequate.

    Disappointed that the lack of restaurant facilities on the weekend was not made more obvious during the booking process. Family room was simply a double room with a put-u-up bed.

The level of comfort and helpfulness was very high and I would not hesitate to recommend this hotel to anyone I know wishing to take a vacation in Somerset.     It was a very attractive building with a beautiful garden

    There was a problem with the shower unit. I was unable to run constant hot water when taking a shower. The temperature varied from very hot to cold frequently.
